Applied Industrial Technologies LP is an extensive network of industrial distribution facilities located throughout Canada. We are currently seeking and have an immediate opening for a qualified and motivated individual to fill the position of of Welder/Fabricator in our Kamloops, BC shop.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up components for welding/fabrication as per standard specifications.
Weld different metals and alloys in various positions.
Weld/fabricate a variety of equipment and industrial components.
Determine appropriate welding equipment or methods based on individual job requirements.
Read and understand production drawings, blueprints, work orders and other written instructions.
Operate grinders, gouging and cutting equipment
Create jigs and fixtures in an effort to create a quality and repeatable product.
Maintenance and use of equipment that does not compromise safety
Quality - Testing and inspection of welds to discover flaws
Participate and comply with all required Health & Safety Programs and training.
Work safely, lead by example and contribute to Applied's corporately sponsored safety program.
Communicate appropriately, confidently and professionally to colleagues and management
Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
5 or more years of experience within an industrial setting is required
Welding certification or Fabrication certification is required, indentured apprentices' will be considered.
Millwright experience would be a huge asset
Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
Mechanical aptitude, experience or certification in other trades an asset
Self motivated, organized and able to work independently
Able to work in a team environment and utilize all available resources
Excellent communication skills – both oral and written
Desire to succeed and grow within the organization
Previous supervisory experience will be considered an asset.
