The Department of Economic Security is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Duplicating Equipment Operator Senior for the Division Business Services (DBS), Operations Support Services (OSS). This position is responsible for the accurate and timely operation of two 4-color high-speed digital printers and two black and white print on demand printers, handling various digital media. This position will maintain high volume print jobs for the Department of Economic Security (DES) and the Department of Child Safety (DCS), prioritize projects, instruct team members on setup and equipment usage, and ensure quality control. The role also requires collaboration with ProcureAZ, the DES office of Procurement, and vendors to obtain necessary supplies. The position utilizes software such as Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office, and Fiery Server, and involves correspondence with customers and the Graphics and Design unit. Services provided include high quality printing for manuals, flyers, forms, brochures, and more. A medical/physical evaluation is required before an appointment, and candidate must pass a post-offer physical exam.

This position is 100% in an on-site setting.

Job Duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Set up and maintain the operations of 4-Ricoh printers. One color printer with an attached booklet maker, another color printer with a Plockmatic production booklet maker, plus 2-black and white with a printer on demand capabilities.
• Coordinating them through Command Workstation and prioritizing for scanning and printing of projects on all printers.
• Maintain a high volume of printing jobs and forms for all Divisions within the Department and the Department of Child Safety.
• Coordinating all jobs by editing, imposing PDF files using software like Adobe Acrobat Professional, Acrobat Distiller, Microsoft and Google products, and Fiery server.
• Acts as lead for the Print Shop to prioritize printing projects.
• Instructs project set-up and equipment operation, provides advice and input, inspects work for quality control and directs correction action as necessary.
• Working with ProcureAZ office of Procurement, SPO and contracted vendors to requisition and receive consumable paper and other items required in the production of a myriad of printing projects.
• Inputting into the MS ACCESS based tracking system.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:
• Principles and practices of leadership and work management as well as Department regulations, procedures and policies related to the assignment.
• Paper textures, weights and grains; methods of adjusting and operating equipment related to assignment, i.e.: digital printing equipment, booklet making equipment, and bindery equipment, capabilities of equipment to which assigned.
• Adobe Acrobat Professional, Acrobat Distiller, Microsoft and Google products, and Fiery server.
• Processes and procedures of additives, collection, sorting, preparation and delivery of mail sufficient to oversee operation.

Skills in:
• Operating and maintaining various duplicating equipment.
• Operating and maintaining bindery equipment at journey level.

Ability to:
• Perform mathematical calculations; apply leadership and work management principles and practices.
• Prioritize workload; multi-task and set priorities on projects, determine which equipment is best suited for the project and due dates.
• Review and inspect the finished assignments; communicate verbally and in writing, maintain working relationships with all customers.

Selective Preference(s):

The ideal candidate for this position will have:

• A medical/physical evaluation is required prior to appointment. Ability to pass a post-offer physical examination.
• Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a print shop using high-volume color and black and white laser printers, as well as duplicating and bindery equipment and printing software.

• If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job to conduct State business, then the following requirements apply: Driver's License Requirements. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver's license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver's license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver's license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).
• Successfully pass background and reference check; employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the Agency's ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.
• All newly hired State employees are subject to and must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).

State employees are required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS), the State sponsored retirement contribution plan and the Long-Term Disability (LTD) program after a 27-week waiting period.
