New Pay Grade for 2024!  

Hourly Range: $38.32 USD to $57.49 USD

Summary of Position:
Performs diagnostic medical radiographic services utilizing established policies and procedures and ARRT & CRT standards ensuring optimal diagnostic quality. Archives data into the PACS system and maintains accurate records of daily operations. Services are provided based on the age specific protocols. Maintains equipment and supplies utilized in the provision of services. Demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary to identify and meet the individualized needs of patients and customers.

Qualifications

Education:
● Completion of an accredited Radiology Technologist program.

Experience:
● One year recent experience as a Radiology Technologist

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
● Highly effective written and verbal communications skills.
● Proficient computer skills as are required to document, communicate and enter information into the electronic medical records system.
● Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
● Ability to collaborate with various departments in and outside of the Barton Health System in order to provide consistently exceptional patient care.

Certifications/Licensure:
● Current ARRT radiology (R) registry
● Current California RT certification
● Current fluoroscopy license or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
● Current CPR/BLS certification by the American Heart Association (BLS for the Healthcare Provider) or ability to obtain prior to start date.

● Rotate to other Barton orthopedic clinics, as needed.

Essential Functions
1. Provide consistently exceptional care at all times.
2. Performs radiographic exams in accordance with ARRT, CRT standards and Barton protocols. Repeat rate <4%
3. Is able to competently utilize all electronic medical imaging computer programs
4. Processes and evaluates technical quality of images on DR and PACS systems.
5. Is able to order, reprint, QC and change orders in the EMR/ RIS
6. Recognizes situations outside of his/her expertise and seeks guidance of coworkers or supervisors.
7. Prepares and maintains imaging rooms and ensures availability of supplies.
8. Transports patients to and from imaging rooms.
9. Ensures patient comfort and safety
10. Follows appropriate patient identification processes prior to transport.
11. Confirms and executes study priorities and proper order.
12. Accurately positions patient to ensuring patients comfort.
13. When indicated, delegates duties to ancillary staff. Utilizes supportive personnel to perform duties within their abilities and scope of service.
14. Is a professional resource to other members of the patient care team in area of expertise
15. Effectively coordinates daily activities. Is self-motivated. Able to safely and effectively set priorities.
16. Keeps patient/family informed of process, procedures, time-frames. Focuses on costumer service needs. Effectively educates patients, families in procedure.
17. Monitors and ensures all documentation is complete and accurate.
18. Prepares reports, evaluations as required by policy.
19. Operates equipment and performs job related duties in a safe manner.
20. Observes and interprets machine functioning. Maintains diagnostic instruments in good working order.
21. Performs scheduled preventative maintenance.
22. Follows department procedure when equipment malfunctions.
23. Orients, instructs and trains assigned personnel
24. Is able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. The individual demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possesses the ability to identify each patient's age-specific needs.
25. Demonstrates a working knowledge of regulatory and licensing standards and ensures that practice is compliant with standards.
26. Responds to the needs of the department by performing other duties, as necessary.
