Position Summary
Guide students, families, staff, and faculty seeking assistance or information regarding admissions, resources, location finding, campus tours, and enrollment support throughout the academic year.
In addition, also responsible for providing training to incoming BC Ambassadors, providing information sessions, providing campus tours, answering emails or other forms of communication, and participating in outreach events such as open houses and college fairs.
This position serves the Welcome Center and is stationed at the information desk.
Pay, Benefits & Work SchedulePay rate: $19/hour
The successful candidate is expected to work 19-40 hours per week. This position typically assigned as needed on a quarterly basis, with no expectation of continued employment beyond the current appointment.
The temporary hourly employment is limited to the earlier of 1,050 hours or 12 consecutive months beginning from the original date of hire. Per WAC 357-04-045, following 1,050 hours or 12 consecutive months, an individual is not eligible for re-employment at Bellevue College in another temporary part-time hourly position. Temporary hourly employees who work more than three hundred fifty (350) hours in a twelve consecutive month period may be subject to provisions of one the collective bargaining agreements covering Classified employees at Bellevue College.
This position is expected to NOT be eligible for benefits because eligibility is limited only to employees working at least an average of 80 hours in eligible employment for more than 6 consecutive months and at least 8 hours a month. Eligible positions are eligible for certain benefits

About the DepartmentWelcome Center manages the information desk at the Student Success Center (U building) and is the first stop for visitors, prospective students, parents, and current students.
Essential Functions- Provide admission information/advising, resources on campus services.
- Support Student Central departments and Academic Advising.
- Serve as a main contact for any recruitment/outreach efforts.
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework preferred.
- Proficient in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. - Previous experience in an office environment is a plus, but not required.
- Customer service experience is advantageous. - Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team. - Basic knowledge of office equipment (e.g., phone systems, printers, fax machines).
- Reliable and punctual.
- Previous experience in an administrative or office support role, even as an intern or volunteer.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with office equipment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Basic knowledge of office procedures and practices.
- Customer service experience, with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Adaptability and willingness to learn new software and processes.
- Familiarity with social media platforms for potential office outreach and marketing efforts.
