Position Summary
Tombolo Institute is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Terminology & Technology Instructor for our Core Translation & Interpreting Certificate program. As the instructor for the Terminology & Technology unit, you will play a crucial role in equipping students with the skills to apply best practices in terminology management and utilize technology effectively in translation and interpreting. Pay, Benefits & Work ScheduleInstructors is typically assigned as needed on a quarterly basis, with no expectation of continued employment beyond the current appointment.
Pay Range: $42.77 - $71. Depending on experience.

In addition to teaching, faculty maintains office hours and may participate in department and college activities. This position is represented by the Bellevue College Association of Higher Education (BCAHE) union.

Essential Functions- Deliver dynamic and interactive instruction on terminology management best practices, including extraction, standardization, and organization.
- Instruct students on the use of technology tools for terminology extraction, management, and corpus analysis.
- Guide students in analyzing and evaluating translation, interpreting, and terminology technology.
- Collaborate with faculty and administrators to develop and refine course materials aligned with industry standards and emerging trends.
- Provide individualized support, feedback, and practical examples to help students develop their terminology and technology skills.
- Stay up to date with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in terminology management and translation/interpreting technology.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive learning environment by working with other instructors, subject matter experts, and industry professionals.
- Practical experience in translation, interpreting, or a related field with expertise in terminology management and technology utilization.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in applying best practices in terminology extraction, standardization, and organization.
- Experience in utilizing technology tools and resources relevant to translation and interpreting, such as specialized software, translation memory systems, and corpora.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex concepts clearly and concisely.
- Teaching, training, or mentoring experience in a professional or academic setting.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Translation, Interpreting, Language Studies, or a related field.
- Continuous learning mindset with a commitment to staying updated with emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in translation, interpreting, and terminology management.
- Experience in using learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning tools.
