The Departments of Medicine and Surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) are recruiting a board certified/board eligible physician for a full-time faculty position in the Division of Thoracic Surgery and Interventional Pulmonology. The ideal candidate for this position will have completed an interventional pulmonology fellowship program. The candidate is expected to integrate seamlessly into a busy practice with clinical responsibilities in the procedure suite, operating rooms, multidisciplinary clinics and wards. The successful candidate will be actively involved in training interventional pulmonology and advanced diagnostic bronchoscopy fellows as well as teaching rotating general pulmonary fellows, residents, and medical students. A track record of academic productivity is essential as the candidate will be expected to be involved actively in the research program of the division. The ideal candidate should also possess exceptional teamwork, program development, and mentorship abilities. In addition to clinical expertise, teaching ability as evidenced by awards or evaluations is an important qualification. Appointment as Assistant Professor or Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School will be commensurate with experience, training, and achievements in addition to teaching activities. In addition, the Departments of Medicine and Surgery will be engaged in the newly announced and exciting clinical collaboration between Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, BIDMC, and Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians (HMFP) to establish New England's only free-standing adult inpatient cancer hospital. The collaboration will bring together world-class clinicians to deliver transformational, precision medicine in an environment solely dedicated to defying cancer.
