PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION

The Director of Supply Chain reports to the Chief Digital & Information Officer and is responsible for leading all areas of supply chain and materials management including inventory, logistics, value analysis, sourcing, contracting and negotiation and data-driven decision making. This position will also lead the planning, development, and implementation of strategic initiatives, cultural transformation, best practices, and operational improvement throughout the organization as it relates to supply chain initiatives.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Duty 1:  Enhances operational efficiency through the use of process improvement activities. Assists in the development and execution of supply chain strategies for the organization.
  • Duty 2: Continually monitors and reports overall supply chain performance metrics to leadership in an accurate and timely manner.  Recommends changes in course of action as needed based on latest data and best practices.
  • Duty 3: Provides oversight to the Value Analysis Committee in collaboration with clinical departments, Quality and Finance; creates a Supply Chain council which actively engages Medical Staff members in the Supply Chain process
  • Duty 4: Fosters collaboration between clinical, non-clinical and finance departments as it relates to Supply Chain activities
  • Duty 5: Ensures implemented supplies and work flows are meeting objectives; leads and/or facilitates optimization and remediation tactics as necessary
  • Duty 6: Actively engages with vendors and selected group purchasing organizations and facilitates the implementation of market-based purchasing projects.
  • Duty 7: Facilitate the standardization of products and optimize supply utilization through effective collaboration with physicians and clinicians.
  • Duty 8: Communicates proactively with physicians and leaders. Demonstrates empathy and concern while ensuring goals are met.  Manages complex interdepartmental and interdisciplinary relationships to assure collaboration.
  • Duty 9: Develops and implements measures for quality improvement, cost and complication reduction, and partners in the implementation of evidence-based practices as it relates to medical and other supplies.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, management, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of prior experience with end-to-end supply chain management and increasing oversight/leadership, with strong analytical skills, utilizing Excel, LEAN, and project management.
  • Demonstrated experience in successful implementation of supply chain projects and positive outcomes.
  • Proven management, supervisory and negotiation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills including verbal and written communication, as well as presentations
  • Strong leadership skills across multi-disciplinary groups, to solve and improve complex workflows
  • A valid driver's license is required (if you do not have a valid Ohio driver's license you must obtain one within 30 days of your residency in the state).  You must also meet BVHS's company fleet policy and insurance company requirements, and any other requirements that may be required to operate a vehicle.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in related field
  • Healthcare supply chain management experience strongly preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position requires a full range of body motion with intermittent walking, lifting, bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting and standing. The associate will be required to walk for up to one hour a day, sit continuously for six hours a day and stand for one hour a day. The individual must be able to lift twenty to fifty pounds and reach work above the shoulders. The individual must have good eye-hand coordination and fine finger dexterity for simple grasping tasks. The individual must have excellent verbal communication skills to perform daily tasks. The associate must have corrected vision and hearing in the normal range. The individual must be able to operate a motor vehicle for business travel and community involvement.
