We are looking for an experienced AI Architect to lead the design and development of a strategic enterprise AI platform that will transform how Professional Services teams discover, reuse, and generate high-value delivery assets.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role for an experienced AI professional who has built and delivered enterprise AI platforms—not just AI prototypes. You will architect scalable AI capabilities that combine Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), agentic AI workflows, enterprise integrations, multimodal intelligence, and governance to accelerate customer delivery and consultant productivity. 
You will work closely with Professional Services leadership, Product teams, Engineering, Security, and Enterprise Architecture to define and build a governed AI platform that supports modernization programs, SaaS migrations, delivery acceleration, and knowledge reuse across the organization.  Here is how, through this exciting role, YOU will contribute to BMC's and your own success:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.   • Design, build, and maintain the application architecture across backend services, ingestion pipelines, AI orchestration, retrieval layers, and user-facing capabilities. • 10+ years of software engineering experience with strong expertise in designing and building enterprise-scale applications.   • Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise AI platforms or AI-enabled products from concept through production.   • Strong hands-on experience with Python for developing production-grade backend services.   • Strong experience with PostgreSQL, including schema design, performance optimization, and operational reliability.   • Hands-on experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs), including model integration, prompt engineering, grounding techniques, and response optimization.   • Experience with Embeddings and semantic search concepts for enterprise AI applications.   • Strong understanding of OAuth, OIDC, JWT, and enterprise authentication mechanisms.   • Ability to translate business requirements into scalable AI architecture and technical solutions.   • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience collaborating across Engineering, Product, Professional Services, and  Enterprise Architecture teams. • Create agentic workflows using tool-calling, ReAct-style reasoning patterns, structured prompts, workflow orchestration, and human review  checkpoints where required.  • Integrate with enterprise identity and access controls, including OAuth/OIDC, JWT validation, claims and role mapping, SSO token validation, and Beyond Identity or equivalent identity mechanisms.  • Support multimodal use cases, including screenshot and image analysis, vision model calls, and AI-assisted troubleshooting grounded in relevant artifacts. 
Whilst these are nice to have, our team can help you develop in the following skills: • Experience designing and implementing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions. • Experience with Vector Search technologies such as pgvector or other enterprise vector databases. • Experience developing and consuming REST APIs. • Experience integrating enterprise platforms using Microsoft Graph APIs and SharePoint. • Experience with Workflow Orchestration and Agentic AI frameworks. • Experience implementing AI Observability, governance, monitoring, and cost optimization. • Experience calling LLM APIs from Python, including model selection, structured outputs, error handling, retries, token management, and cost awareness.  • Understanding of agentic AI patterns, including ReAct, tool calling, function calling, workflow orchestration, and human-in-the-loop controls.

Actual salaries depend on a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training, licensure, and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. 
The salary listed is just one component of BMC's employee compensation package. Other rewards may include a variable plan and country specific benefits.
