Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic IT Director to lead the application development team supporting our Cash In Transit (CIT) operations. This role will oversee local and offshore development resources, providing strategic direction and technical leadership to ensure the successful delivery and management of applications that support ordering, planning, scheduling, routing, and fulfillment processes.
The IT Director will be responsible for modernizing the technology stack, managing development projects, ensuring operational excellence, and building strong partnerships with business stakeholders. A deep understanding of application development, system integration, and routing software is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
· Technology Leadership: Develop, articulate, and own the technology strategy for CIT applications. Ensure the technology roadmap aligns with business goals and objectives.
· Application Management: Oversee the CIT application stack, including custom applications developed using .NET, SQL, Hangfire, AWS daily route planning, RoadNet routing, and reporting tools.
· Development Oversight: Manage onshore and offshore development teams to deliver applications that support order management, planning, daily route optimization, telematics, mobile/handheld solutions, and invoicing.
· Demand & Release Management: Lead the demand intake, prioritize development requests, manage releases, and ensure timely delivery of enhancements and projects.
· KTLO Management: Oversee the Keep the Lights On (KTLO) function, ensuring system stability, performance, and availability.
· Business Partnership: Collaborate closely with CIT operations, finance, and leadership teams to understand business needs, provide technology solutions, and manage stakeholder expectations.
· People Management: Mentor, coach, and develop a high-performing technology team. Provide guidance on best practices, career growth, and performance management.
· Modernization and Innovation: Lead efforts to modernize legacy applications, adopt new technologies, and drive digital transformation.
· Operational Support: Ensure applications provide real-time data for operations to monitor and manage KPIs effectively.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
· 10-15 years of experience in technology development management, preferably in logistics, transportation, or supply chain domains.
· Proven experience in managing application development using .NET, SQL, AWS, and routing software like RoadNet.
· Extensive IT architecture experience, having architected, designed, and implemented custom applications in the transportation or supply chain industry.
· Experience with telematics, mobile solutions, and operational reporting.
· Strong understanding of application modernization strategies and cloud technologies.
· Demonstrated success in leading and mentoring development teams, both onshore and offshore.
· Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
· Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
· Experience with CIT operations, order management, or transportation management systems (TMS) is preferred but not required.
Preferred Skills:
· Experience with Hangfire for job scheduling and background processing.
· Knowledge of routing optimization software and telematics systems.
· Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and microservices architecture.
· Strong understanding of Agile and DevOps methodologies.
