Position overview:
The Manager, Strategic Pricing is pivotal in shaping and driving our pricing strategies across North America, directly impacting the business's competitive positioning and profitability. In this high-visibility role, you will spearhead the implementation of value-based pricing strategies across the organization, lead pricing initiatives for new product innovations and ensure that our pricing processes are optimized for efficiency and scalability. This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in pricing strategy, project and change management.
Key responsibilities:
Leadership and Coaching
- Lead, manage and mentor a team of analysts and senior analysts.
- Provide guidance, coaching and support to team members, promoting their professional growth and development.
- Set clear performance expectations and provide regular feedback to drive team success.
- Mentor and guide pricing team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
Strategic pricing implementation
- Drive the execution of the strategic pricing roadmap, ensuring the alignment of pricing strategic with overall business objectives.
- Develop, refine, and implement value-based pricing models and strategies to maximize profitability and market competitiveness.
- Lead pricing projects, ensuring timely and successful execution in alignment with the company's pricing strategy.
- Manage change initiatives related to strategic pricing, working collectively with sales and product management.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of market trends, competitor pricing, and customer data to support strategic pricing decisions.
Quoting process overview:
- Oversee the quoting process for medium to large-scale, complex pricing opportunities.
- Collaborate with Sales and Operations teams to understand the unique requirements of each deal.
- Develop and execute deal-specific pricing strategies to enhance competitiveness and profitability.
- Utilize decision support tools to provide real-time insights during deal evaluations.
- Provide actionable insights from post-mortem reporting to guide future pricing strategies and deal-specific approaches.
New Product pricing positioning:
- Lead pricing activities for the introduction of new products to ensure effective go-to-market, competitive advantage and profitability.
- Collaborate with product management, finance, operations and sales teams to ensure alignment on price positioning strategies and execution.
Continuous improvement and automation:
- Continuously analyze market trends, competitive pricing strategies and internal pricing performance to refine and optimize pricing approaches.
- Lead efforts to improve pricing accuracy, consistency and scalability.
- Leverage pricing technology and automation tools to streamline pricing processes.
- Identify opportunities to automate and improve efficiencies in pricing workflows and systems.
Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in strategic pricing, pricing analysis, with a strong preference for expertise in value-based pricing.
- Experience in leading projects and change across international organizations. PMP and Prosci certifications are considered a plus.
- Proven leadership experience, managing a team and driving results in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and influence decision-making at various organizational levels.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
