Job Description
The Senior Technical Program Manager will oversee the strategic management of large-scale IT programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and driving successful execution across global teams. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership skills to manage complex IT initiatives from inception to completion. Also, responsible for the strategic management of the IT project portfolio, ensuring alignment with business objectives and optimal use of resources. This role involves comprehensive oversight of project selection, prioritization, and performance monitoring. Plus managing and executing specific IT programs, focusing on technical challenges, team coordination, and delivery of results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Program Management: Lead the development and execution of program strategies that support business goals. Oversee multiple project teams, ensuring program goals are met on time and within budget.
- Leadership and Team Management: Direct and mentor project managers and cross-functional teams. Foster a collaborative environment and ensure clear communication across all levels of the organization.
- Program Execution: Manage the end-to-end execution of IT programs, ensuring technical requirements and project deliverables are met.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and high performance.
- Technical Problem Solving: Address complex technical challenges within the program, ensuring solutions align with strategic goals.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain continuous engagement with stakeholders to ensure alignment and address concerns.
- Budget and Schedule Management: Manage program budgets and schedules, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within financial constraints.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary liaison between IT and key stakeholders, including C-suite executives. Ensure stakeholder expectations are managed through regular updates and strategic reviews.
- Risk Management: Identify, analyze, and mitigate risks throughout the program lifecycle. Establish robust risk management processes to prevent potential setbacks.
- Resource Allocation: Efficiently manage resources across projects, ensuring optimal allocation to meet strategic objectives.
- Performance Metrics: Develop and monitor key performance indicators to evaluate program effectiveness and implement continuous improvement practices.
- Governance and Compliance: Ensure all program activities comply with organizational governance policies and external regulatory requirements.
- Portfolio Strategy: Develop and maintain the IT project portfolio strategy, aligning projects with organizational strategic goals.
- Project Prioritization: Lead the process for project evaluation and prioritization, ensuring projects align with strategic goals and resource availability.
- Resource Management: Oversee resource allocation across the portfolio to maximize efficiency and project outcomes.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor and report on portfolio performance, providing insights and recommendations to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 15 years' experience in program management within a complex, global IT environment.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale IT programs and delivering transformative outcomes.
- Strong leadership skills and experience managing senior-level project teams.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Certifications such as PMP, PgMP, or similar are highly desirable.
