Controller
This position is responsible for directing the financial activity of the Company, including preparation of current financial reports, safe-guarding the company's assets, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, control systems, auditing and reporting, as well as summaries and forecasts for future business growth and general economic outlook. The Controller directs proactively leads the Company's efforts in developing financial strategies that maximize short- and long-term returns of the Company while serving as an advocate for change in executing agreed-upon strategies.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Direct the preparation of all financial reports, including income statements, cash flow statements, balance sheets, and reports for government regulatory agencies
- Create, coordinate, and evaluate the financial programs and supporting information systems of the Company
- Direct the organization's financial goals, budget preparation, and internal audit functions
- Appraise the Company's financial position, issue periodic financial and operating reports and handle financing/banking relationships
- Analyze organization operations identifying opportunities for improvement, cost reduction, and systems enhancement
- Set goals and implement programs to attain these goals
- Communicate with staff and management to determine the level of support necessary for the design and execution of proposed programs
- Provide leadership for problem resolution to facilitate improvements and improved working relationships
- Meet regularly with department heads to provide consultative support through financial and management information analyses, reports, and recommendations
- Review reports to analyze projections of sales and profit against actual figures, budgeted expenses against final totals
- Estimate requirements for capital, land, buildings, and other pro forma items in respect to future growth and opportunities.
- Initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash position and develop a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism
- Build and develop strong relationships with internal and external customers with the intent to develop solutions to new situations and identify and correct problems
- Stay abreast of legal, technological, and managerial issues and ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal laws and regulations
- Responsible for preparing financial statements for Board Meetings.
- Attend Partnership Board meetings (as required).
- Regularly prepare entries to the general ledger and prepare account reconciliations and analysis. Ensure proper compliance with established accounting principles and procedures.
- Monitor established internal controls to assure proper compliance.
- Assure fixed asset physical control and accounting.

Essential Qualifications
- 7 years of financial management experience
- Professional experience in an organizational management role
- Appropriate professional image with high ethical standards
- Able to make judgments and decisions considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions
- Excellent interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication and organizational skills are required in order to communicate clearly and persuasively with internal and external customers at all levels of the organization
- Good educator, trustworthy and willing to share information and serve as a mentor
- Current financial and accounting computer application knowledge
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Possess strong leadership and managerial skills
- Ability to maintain confidential information
- Excellent computer skills and an in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products and familiarity with ERP systems and the associated Accounting/Financial tools.
