As a Schools Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for the preparation, review and submission of accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and analysis.

How You Will Impact Education

Instruction/Education Responsibilities

  • Direct, coordinate and supervise the work of senior and staff accountants to ensure all deadlines are met and all department goals are achieved.
  • Teach, coach and mentor senior and staff accountants so that they develop professionally and are prepared to take on greater roles in the department.
  • Coordinate workflow to maximize efficiency and optimize resource utilization.
  • Assist with the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for various corporate entities.
  • Responsible for timely and accurate monthly and annual close process, financial statement preparation, financial reporting design and production, variance analysis for the various corporate entities.
  • Assist with budgeting and maintain updated forecast to present to corresponding business unit owners.
  • Reconciliation of Intercompany transactions between entities.
  • Work closely with other internal departments and outside organizations as needed.
  • Coordinate and manage year-end audits with external CPA firm.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures with emphasis on internal controls and best practices.
  • Assist with ad hoc projects as needed.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills

  • Ability to multitask and work in a high pace environment
  • Thorough knowledge of full cycle general ledger accounting

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting with 5+ years of professional experience
  • Certified Public Accountant highly preferred
  • NetSuite ERP System (Oracle) highly preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles
  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software
  • Commitment to company values
