Summary:
Provide daily oversight to the Access Center nurses and assists in management of assigned staff to provide optimal patient flow through cultivating a positive working relationship with leadership, physicians, hospital staff and referrals. Leads, trains, and mentors staff in the operation of the Access Center as well as processes. Oversees scheduling to ensure staffing meets the needs for the Access Center processes at both hospitals. Performs and/or assists with clinical coordination, quality assurance programs and maintaining standards for CAMTS accreditation criteria for the Access Center. Maintains and implements knowledge of all the protocols, regulations, policies, procedures, and guidelines, that impact the Access Center and ensures that the area is in compliance. Seeks advice and guidance as necessary to ensure proper understanding when necessary.

Responsibilities:
* Performs all roles and responsibilities of the Access Center nurse.
* Evaluates employee performance against existing department and organizational standards including annual PEAC review, quarterly reviews, coaching, feedback sessions as assigned, employee recognition, etc.
* Assists in the selection, training, motivation, supervision, and evaluation of the Access Center nurses to ensure maximum utilization of individual and group capabilities, while providing optimal service to internal and external customers.
* Supports communication that augments safe practices, explains and supports a just, accountable, and reporting culture of safety. Embraces the integrated safety management system into all aspect of the department
* Leads/Assists with QA, PI projects, and adherence with CAMTS accreditation criteria within the Access Center.
* Responsible for PI and QI projects as assigned within the Access Center.
* Responsible for performing and reporting progress/data QI and PI projects to the Transport Quality Program Manager.
* Works with medical director and Access Center leadership in creating and updating protocols with physician leaders; as well as monitoring quality and compliance to the protocols and providing feedback on an individual basis regarding QA issues.
* Provides assistance in identifying cases to be presented in Transport QA meetings and system opportunities at Transport PI Committee.
* Coordinates completion of employee schedules with the staff and manager
* Supports action plans as a result of the feedback received from the annual Experience, Inclusion and Engagement Survey
* Stays abreast of the latest developments, advancements, and trends in prehospital care by attending seminars and workshops, reading professional journals and maintaining flight communicator certification and integrates this knowledge into the job as appropriate. Ensures that assigned staff receives opportunities to further their knowledge.
* Identifies and analyzes the design of jobs, work processes and workflow for the department and works with leadership to implement appropriate changes to improve effectiveness, productivity, and efficiency.

How You'll Be Successful:

WORK EXPERIENCE
* At least 2 years Experience in hospital Transport or Access Center Required
* Previous leadership experience or demonstrated skill Required

EDUCATION
* Four-year Bachelor's degree in Nursing BSN Required
* FEMA 100- within 180 days of hire Required
* FEMA 200-within 180 days of hire Required

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
* Current license to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas Upon Hire Required
* Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers as required by CP 1.20 Life Support Course Requirements Upon Hire Required
* Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification Upon Hire Required
* Certified Flight Communicator within 1 Year Required
* Licensure/Certification as a paramedic or EMT Preferred
