BUSINESS MANAGER LEAD PRODUCTS CAPITAL MARKETS WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
The Capital Markets Business Manager (BM) Product Lead is is responsible for the end-to-end management of all products within the Capital Markets Division (Foreign Exchange, Interest Rate Risk Management, Syndications, International Banking Trade Finance and Supply Chain Finance) including the successful implementation of third party portals and applications. The Capital Markets BM Product Lead seeks, defines, introduces, promotes and monitors products, services and functionalities that develop new client relationships, enhance existing relationships and maximize returns. This includes working with various enterprise program teams to review new requirements, identify, develop and implement pertinent and effective procedures and operational improvements. Provides strategic guidance for program implementation, monitoring multiple work plans and coordinating partner activities in accordance with the bank's risk initiatives. The BM Product Lead is expected to have a strong understanding of Capital Markets Products and risk program goals, approaches and partnerships as well as experience with identifying and improving overall processes / bottlenecks in terms of delivery of the requirements. Works with the management team to incorporate operational integrity into all aspects of the product performance. Core responsibilities include product strategy, product development, product management, product pricing, product positioning and product promotion, as well as compliance/risk management, vendor management, and product financials management.
Product Management is an ongoing cycle. It begins with analysis of needs and opportunities, leading to product development. Once the product is developed, colleagues must be trained, policies and procedures developed, pricing and positioning established, and marketing materials created. Subsequently, product tracking occurs, followed by analysis and recommendations to enhance the product to provide better service to clients or to be more competitive in the marketplace.
Product Management coordinates and manages the formulation and implementation of all activities for a specific product or product line from conception to marketplace; performs economic and market research and analysis; provides product documentation and training; and serves as technical advisor on matters concerning the designated product and/or product line
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Manage assigned products/product lines. Manages the most complex and strategic products, product lines, or product suites for the bank. Generally will manage a team of product managers. Interfaces with all levels of management throughout the Corporation.
- Provides supervision of a project or multiple projects impacting products to achieve a strategic vision.
- Manage product cost and product profitability through a disciplined analysis and evaluation process, which includes regular reporting and meetings with
- Business Units Managers, and other stakeholders as appropriate.
- Identify, evaluate and implement opportunities/needs for product enhancement and development. These opportunities may be identified through: regular market and competitor analysis performed by the product group; solutions developed as the result of client needs; suggestions from the line or
- Product Review Committee (PRC) or that meet a specific bank initiative or new client niche.
- Prepares reports and analyses on assigned products/product lines and presents to Bank Management (PRC, ALCO, etc.) on a regular basis. Focus of reports/analyses may be market or competitive issues, special economic and risk factors, pricing, product strategy, profitability, etc.
- Act as primary liaison between Capital Markets teams,, Second Line Risk Management, and RBC to assess all applicable risks and controls.
- Identify, recommend and implement new processes, procedures and products to improve workflow and efficiency and to oversee or participate in operations development and improvement programs.
- Create and facilitate changes by integrating new systems or processes with existing ones; measures results and identifies necessary corrective actions.
- Manages risks and issues and takes corrective measurements action to resolve quickly and effectively.
- Maintain professional, ethical, and courteous relationships with both internal colleagues and external customers
- Responsible and accountable for appropriate quality controls related to the financial products the bank provides, the services the bank delivers, the processes employed and the incentives with which colleagues are awarded.

- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
- Minimum 8 years of experience in Financial Services - 2 years working with capital markets
- Minimum 5 years of product management, marketing research or strategic planning and/or project management experience required
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory/managerial experience
- Strong banking and/or capital markets background.
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to maintain cordial/professional relationships with clients/colleagues; collaborative team player
- Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks within established time frames and with a focus on quality.
- Ability to work collaboratively with peers, company managers, and clients in a team environment.
- Excellent customer service skills (ability to interact with both external and internal customers).
- Strong technical/systems skills.
- Exceptional organizational, critical thinking, analytical and proactive problem solving skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint are essential; Experience in OPICS, Murex, Bloomberg, FXALL, FX Connect, 360T, Syndtrack, B&F Capital Markets, Prime Revenue, Orbian, Liquid X, FTI, Marco Polo and other advanced programs would be beneficial.
- Established knowledge of Trade and Supply Chain Finance Products
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU? Compensation Starting base salary: $111,408 - $189,738 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
