DATA SCIENTIST – CONSUMER BANKING PRICING & PROFITABILITY

 

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY? Lead data strategy and analytics for Consumer Banking Pricing and Profitability by driving enterprise-wide profitability metrics and serving as the Finance data steward for the Enterprise Data Warehouse. In this role, you will develop advanced analytics to optimize capital performance and relationship profitability across consumer businesses. You will identify opportunities to increase margins, incorporate ancillary revenues, and better account for risk and expenses while establishing data governance standards and appropriate return targets.The ideal candidate will possess advanced expertise in data modeling and analytics, combined with strong knowledge of consumer banking and risk-adjusted profitability frameworks. You should be able to translate complex financial concepts into actionable insights that drive business impact.

 

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

• Develop pricing, profitability, and forecasting models to support Consumer Banking decisions.
• Act as the data steward for Finance, governing data quality, integrity, and accessibility for profitability metrics.
• Analyze portfolio, customer, and product profitability to identify growth opportunities
• Develop reporting analytics to evaluate Line of Business segment Return on Capital performance, highlighting areas of strength and opportunity for improvement down to the relationship manager level.
• Partner with Finance, Treasury, Risk, Technology and business teams to improve data quality and reporting.
• Support pricing strategy through market, customer, and financial analysis.
• Present recommendations and insights to senior leadership and key stakeholders

 

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED? Required Qualifications*

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Finance, Economics, Data Science, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in data architecture, analytics, or a related field, with expertise in consumer banking or financial services.
• 3+ years of experience with profitability metrics (RAR, RAROC).

  Additional Qualifications

• Advanced degree preferred
• Strong technical skills in data modeling, ETL processes, and tools like SQL, Python, or Alteryx.
• Proficiency in visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and advanced analytics platforms.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical insights into actionable business strategies.

• Strong knowledge on Consumer Banking loan data

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU? Compensation Starting base salary: $87,000 - $153,000 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
