MANAGER STRATEGIC CHANGE DELIVERY WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY? The purpose of the Strategic Change Delivery Manager is to support the execution of City National Bank's (CNB's) Strategic Priorities through application of the bank's Enterprise Change Enablement & Adoption methodology and tools at the enterprise portfolio level including creation and execution of required deliverables and supporting material in partnership with the Manager of Transformation & Culture, CNB executive leadership, delivery partners, and related teams. In partnership with the Manager of Transformation & Culture and the Strategic Change Enablement Manager, the Strategic Change Delivery Manager drives awareness of the organizational change value proposition, assists the Manager of Transformation & Culture with development of strategy, and facilitates implementation of that strategy within an environment of effective controls and risk governance to meet regulatory requirements. WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Strategic Change Enablement & Adoption Delivery for City National Bank (CNB)
  • Acts as change enabler and drives a portfolio of enterprise change initiatives across the bank identified as strategic priorities and provide guidance and support to related project teams
  • Partners with Change Owners and project teams across the enterprise to drive and support implementation and adoption of our most important strategic priorities and key initiatives, as well as delivers an organizational culture of service excellence, efficiency, effort, collaboration, and enterprise
  • Partners with leaders to enable the human side of transformation, ensuring people adopt the changes needed to promote the long-term success of our business
  • Collaborates with Change Owners, stakeholders, and partners to understand business strategy around assigned projects, and own responsibility for the development, support and execution of organizational change management strategies and processes for defined projects related to the company's aims & objectives
  • Ensures effective and consistent implementation of change projects, support on-going improvement efforts of project management and implementation discipline.
  • Works closely with Strategic Change Delivery Managers Change Owners to ensure project change enablement needs are appropriately resourced and delivered in an effective manner, and benefits realized
  • Acts as ECEA Lead on certain projects as dictated by resources and the bank's priorities
  • Escalates issues to Manager Transformation & Culture as appropriate and necessary
  • Leads change enablement and adoption project resources, directing their activities to achieve assigned goals
  • Ensures alignment with the bank's Enterprise Change Risk Management policy and Enterprise Change Management Office Procedure
  • Drives business value through Enterprise Change Enablement & Adoption processes and tools
  • Builds strong, collaborative relationships with Change Owners and delivery partners
  • Effectively manages and coaches Change Managers and Change Consultants in a direct reporting or matrix environment as required.
  • Enterprise Change Enablement Team Leadership and Development
  • Establishes and maintains a high performing team in a highly technical environment with high execution risk due to complexity of projects and volume of change
  • Provides ongoing technical and professional training and coaching to Change Consultants
  • Provides focus and clarity in establishing individual goals, driving performance management, supporting career development, and rewarding strong performance
  • Enterprise Change Enablement & Adoption Operation and Evolution
  • Collaborate (in cooperation with Manager of Transformation & Culture) with senior leaders, stakeholders, and partners to understand business strategy, to assist with development, support and execution of organizational change management strategies and processes for defined projects related to the company's aims & objectives.
  • Develop and evolve a competency model enabling a sustainable, skills-based ECEA COE.
  • Support Strategic Change Delivery Manager, Strategic Change Leads, and Manager of Transformation & Culture in effective and consistent implementation of projects, support on-going improvement efforts of project management and implementation discipline, and contribute to creation and maintenance of standard change management tools and templates.
  • Manage relationships, recruiting and onboarding for contingent workforce, technology and other third-party vendors providing services to the ECEA team or the Change Enablement & Adoption Community of Practice.
  • Partner with appropriate Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) colleagues and teams on change enablement and adoption best practices, tools and enablement protocols.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED? Required Qualifications*
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • 15+ years of progressive relevant experience leading large change programs with a high level of value (benefit/cost), and very high level of complexity and uncertainty
  • At least 5 years previous experience working in a consulting, project/program management and/or dedicated organizational change management function in an organizational change leadership role
  • 5+ years of progressive relevant experience leading project/initiative teams, including directing the activities of organizational change specialists or influencing the activities of those with influence over or partial responsibility for completion of OCM-related deliverables
  • Prosci or other industry-recognized organizational change certification
Additional Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in a head of function, head of service line or practice area lead role, with staff performance management, vendor management, and budgeting responsibility strongly preferred
  • Experience managing a portfolio of large cross-enterprise programs/projects, programs/projects with third-party vendors and programs/projects with significant technical and/or regulatory components
  • Financial services industry experience strongly preferred
  • Strategic and tactical organizational change management implementation
  • Communication, presentation, and facilitation skills with a focus on engaging senior executives
  • Assessing and utilizing relevant technology, standards, methodologies and aligning to audit requirements
  • Long-term coaching and organizational change management trusted advisor experience
  • Experience managing contingent workforce and vendor relationships with third-party consulting resources
  • Demonstrated record of agile thinking, influencing, and communicating effectively
  • Education - MBA or graduate degree in relevant field preferred
  • Accreditations - ACMP Certified Change Management Professional (CCMP) strongly preferred.
  • Tools - Microsoft 365, enterprise collaboration platforms, SaaS-based organizational change, analytics and/or project management tools

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU? Compensation Starting base salary: $141,830 - $263,408 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
