MGR CORPORATE EVENTS & SPONSORSHIP

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

The Corporate Events and Sponsorships Manager is responsible for strategic development planning and creating events that connect the bank's brand with the overall focus of the key initiatives for the lines of business. This position will provide strong planning and execution of event marketing strategies and will be responsible for driving the plan forward by planning, organizing, developing and executing all corporate sponsorships in all regions. This position drives the ideation and implementation of activations across the events and sponsorships to drive measurable brand awareness and positive brand sentiment, which is measured annually. Responsible to set goals, manage overall multi-million-dollar budget, monitor RAR contracted in agreements, monitor work, and evaluate results to ensure that departmental and organizational objectives and operating requirements are met and are in line with the needs and mission of the bank. The position will be responsible for managing a team of event planners and corporate sponsorship colleagues and leading the oversight of event contracts, creating events that drive business development and sales prospecting opportunities, new product introductions, and creation of collateral and communications for events.This position works closely with executive leadership, and external clients and prospects, to facilitate their integration with sponsorship assets and hospitality. This position also manages teams of contractors and vendors to drive successful activations across multiple sponsorships. The expectation is that this position can work independently with a full understanding of the CNB brand and is entrusted to lead the Corporate Events and Sponsorships team with minimal management oversight required

What you will do

  • Manage and lead the events and sponsorships team by providing oversight for the team workflow, resource allocation and project management that focuses on the implementation of successful events. Provide feedback on individual and team accomplishments, areas of improvement, coach, counsel and provide direction and guidance. Align all efforts to key business goals to increase brand awareness and sentiment with target audiences.
  • Establish strategic partnerships with line units to develop and implement internal and external events through the bank to meet specific goals and objectives.
  • Track and coordinate the fulfillment of all contractual sponsorship assets, ensuring that they are activated to the fullest benefit of the CNB brand.
  • Develop short and long-term strategies for internal and external events marketing opportunities.
  • Lead the negotiation of new sponsorship opportunities and renewals to secure the best sponsorship packages for CNB. This includes seeking opportunities with organizations that lead to contractual banking relationships with CNB, when possible.
  • Research and implement unique event opportunities for the Bank to host.
  • Work closely with LOB leaders and the communications and content teams during planning process to establish a pre and post follow-up protocol for each event.
  • Collaborate with lines of business and Segment team to ensure sponsorship and event marketing activity is targeted to audience, conveys the key message in the tone and manner consistent with CNB standards and support the business unit goals.
  • Negotiate and manage major contracts, overseeing millions of dollars in activation and a multitude of sub-contractors.
  • Remain current and knowledgeable about evolving technology in events area such as webinars, audience response, and social media.
  • Establish measurable and trackable goals for all sponsorships and events, utilizing Workfront and Salesforce as the primary tools.
  • Developing strong working relationships with key contacts at assigned sponsorships and events to ensure seamless execution of sponsorship assets.
  • Maintain a proactive commitment to established bank programs, such as Community Reinvestment Act and Affirmative Action.
  • Comply fully with all Bank Operational and Credit policies and procedures as well as all regulatory requirements.
  • Responsible and accountable for appropriate quality controls related to the financial products the bank provides, the services the bank delivers, the processes employed and the incentives with which colleagues are awarded.

Must-Have*

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 10 years of Corporate Marketing/Events/Sponsorships experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of banking experience.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Sponsorship negotiation, strategic alliances, name-in-title rights, licensing, promotions, events.
  • Must have strong communications skills, along with ability to establish respectful environment of trust, with a focus on creating positive outcomes for colleagues and clients.
  • Proven track record of effective project management, detail‐oriented thinking and strong communication.
  • Must have a proven track record of results in event management, event marketing strategy, new product development and people management.
  • Strong event and client service orientation.
  • Must have ability to articulate a vision and strategy that inspires and motivates a team and focuses their energy on achieving business goals.
  • Strong planning, forecasting and budgeting skills with the ability to analyze, evaluate, plan and execute both existing and potential events and strategies.
  • Ability to work special events, as required.
  • Fosters and builds relationships with vendors.
  • Travel required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft programs: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Compensation

Starting base salary: $127,626 - $237,014 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
