MORTGAGE INTAKE TEAM ASSOCIATE
WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
As an Associate on the Mortgage Application Intake Team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth processing of mortgage applications. You will be responsible for reviewing and verifying applications for completeness and compliance with the necessary documentation before the underwriting process. This role demands attention to detail, a strong understanding of mortgage application procedures, and excellent communication skills to liaise with loan officers and other internal stakeholders.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Review mortgage applications and supporting documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Identify any missing, incomplete, or incorrect information and follow up with loan officers or internal teams to resolve discrepancies.
- Validate the application against regulatory and company-specific guidelines, ensuring all required forms and documents are included.
- Maintain clear and organized records of reviewed applications and communications with loan officers.
- Communicate effectively with loan officers and other internal teams to request additional information or clarification.
- Ensure applications are processed in a timely manner, meeting established service level agreements (SLAs).
- Assist in troubleshooting application-related issues and escalate complex problems to the manager.
- Keep up to date with industry regulations and company policies regarding mortgage applications.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives to streamline the application intake process.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
Required Qualification
- H.S. Diploma
- 1-2 years of experience in mortgage operations, loan processing, or a similar administrative role.
Skills, Knowledge and Licenses (And All Other Preferred)
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage, motivate, and develop a team to achieve performance goals.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and mortgage processing systems.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in mortgage processing systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with mortgage documentation and underwriting processes is a plus.
- Knowledge of regulatory guidelines (e.g., RESPA, TRID) is desirable.

Compensation
Starting base salary: $22.27 - $33.43 per hour. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions
