The Opportunity

This position will take part in a 1-year training program designed to prepare high potential candidates to fill a Supervisory position within the Operations area. Candidates will observe and/or work in selected departments to gain a broad knowledge of the financial services industry and specific knowledge of the functions and interrelations of departments within [client]A Operations. Upon completion of the 1-year trainee program, under limited supervision, uses knowledge and skills obtained through experience and training to manage a single function or less complex specialty area, typically involving service, operations or administrative associates. 

Though the position will be remote, candidates must be local to Los Angeles, CA as training will be done onsite. 

The Responsibilities:

  • Learns about a full complement of products and services offered at CNB through direct observation and participation, interaction with department personnel, reading and other research.

  • Studies for and obtains Series 99 license within the training period. 

  • Successfully completes Emerging Leaders Leader Development Program which includes selected leadership development/supervisory skills activities within the training period. 

  • Develops currency in assigned area of responsibility. 

  • Develops currency in operations and human resource management practices, policies and procedures. 

  • May lead the work of others and provide cross-training, coaching and mentoring, as required. 

  • Monitors workflows to ensure assignments are completed in an accurate and timely manner.  

  • Participates in human resource management activities, including participating in the interviewing and selection, performance evaluation and progressive discipline processes, as required. 

  • Assists with the annual budget process and regular review of financial statements. 

  • Identifies and resolves systemic and operational issues. 

  • Initiates efficiency and productivity improvements. 

  • Assists with special projects, as required. 

  • Interprets, applies and recommends changes to organizational policies and procedures. 

  • Performs periodic reporting on work progress, project completions and additional ad-hoc reporting as required. 

  • Balances conflicting resource and priority demands. 

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

The Qualifications

Knowledge of:   

  • Business management, principles and practices. 

  • Basic investment concepts, practices and procedures used in the financial services industry. 

  • Operations and systems of assigned functional area. 

  • Operates standard office equipment and uses required software applications. 

Skill in:   

  • Learning through interview and observation. 

  • Analyzing and solving complex problems. 

  • Business planning. 

  • Identifying and understanding causal relationships between business functions. 

  • Preparing management reports. 

  • Promoting effective coordination between multiple work groups and functional areas.

  • Bachelor Degree and two (2) years general work experience. 

  • The willingness and the ability to obtain the Series 99 within the training period. 

 

This is the pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay for this position: $32.88/hour - $35.25/hour
