PAYMENTS RISK ADVISORY AND OVERSIGHT MANAGER WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY? The Payments Risk Advisory and Oversight Manager will support key elements of the BCM Program to develop and execute a robust Payments Risk Management Program, to ensure policy and standard requirements are adhered by the enterprise. This role will execute effective oversight and challenge over the business/First Line of Defense (1LOD) and help support the development of the Operational Risk Profile, by platform, by region, by legal entity. The role will be instrumental in ensuring program effectiveness by providing education, collaborating across teams, and promoting business continuity awareness across the organization to ensure overall organizational resiliency. WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Function as a leader in Payments Risk Management
◦ Support the CUSO Payments Risk strategy, culture and activities that enable the team to operate as an integrated organization.
◦ Support a culture of integrity and behaviors that align to RBC's Code of Conduct and professional standards.
◦ Work collaboratively across teams, contributing to an engaged workforce who are effective, knowledgeable, and adaptable.
◦ Foster an environment of continuous personal growth. - Directly support the implementation of RBC's Payments Risk Management program and practices.
◦ Provide recommendations on policies, processes, and tools for Payments Risk management.
◦ Participate in various forums, working groups, and committees as well as monitor the internal and external environment to keep abreast of organizational, regulatory, strategic, and operational changes and environmental trends impacting business continuity management practices.
◦ Investigate large loss events/incidents related to Payments/Fraud/business disruption to assess potential systemic weaknesses and ensure appropriate corrective action.
◦ Partner with first line of defense on the execution and effectiveness of the Payments program (independent reviews, deep dive reviews, risk assessments and coordination of scenario analysis) to gain assurance on current and emerging issues.
◦ Execute an annual Payments Risk Assessment to support accurate view of the Operational Risk Profile.
◦ Provide SME review and challenge of risk routines and assessments (e.g., new products, change, RCSA, control testing, etc.) - Provide Payments Advice and monitor key and emerging risks.
◦ Provide subject matter expertise to colleagues and management in understanding and managing risk across the Payment Systems domain.
◦ Support a strong culture of risk and integrity through effective challenge and deep partnership with first line to promote transparency of risks and matters requiring escalation.
◦ Develop and share quarterly risk profile communications with the ORM community.
◦ Support Sr Director in independent, thematic reviews and emerging risk assessments to increase awareness of risk exposures.
◦ Consistently demonstrate behaviors that foster a sound and sustainable risk culture and environment across the organization including strong awareness of Payment Operations practices.
◦ Provide the business/1LOD with effective challenge and recommendations for continuous improvement to ensure Payment's risk is mitigated.
◦ Conduct and analyze the design and operating effectiveness of our Payments control environment to contribute and provide insights of our Operational Risk Profile and Payments Risk Profile.
◦ Continuous monitoring with each LOB through RBA (risk-based approach). - Enable regulatory change, Operational Risk Governance & Reporting.
◦ Develop / leverage risk dashboards and metrics to identify trends and provide insights that contribute to an accurate profile of operational risk.
◦ Manage Tableau dashboards for access as well as accuracy.
◦ Contribute and provide risk-based data for monthly and quarterly reporting, including identifying top Payments risks, trends/themes, and emerging risks.
◦ Conduct risk assessments and provide advice on the risk profile of change initiatives across the organization as required.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
- 7+ years of Payments Risk experience with knowledge, skill and background in Operational Risk, Compliance, and/or Audit ideally within the Banking and/or financial services industry.
- Sound Knowledge and experience with operational risk programs, risk assessment, internal controls, monitoring and reporting.
- Payments Risk and Fraud Risk experience and/or knowledge of global best practices.
- Risk mindset, data analysis capability and analytical thinking, strong organization, and collaboration skills
- Ability to be resourceful, troubleshoot and provide recommendations / resolution
- Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU? Compensation Starting base salary: $111,408 - $189,738 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
