SALES COMPENSATION ANALYST I

 

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?   Plays a key role in the oversight and administration of variable compensation plans. This role will be responsible for configuring and developing systems for the calculations of compensation payment, ensuring the accuracy of data, and compliance with business objectives in the Varicent platform. Key responsibilities include gathering new and changing business requirements for compensation plans, analyzing data trends, and assisting with the design and development of new plans. The analyst will also draft comprehensive plan documents, including technical documentation for the configuration and calculation of plans, ensuring system readiness and alignment with business goals.  Familiarty with testing expected results and identifying system issues in a testing environment.  Successful candidates will exhibit a proactive mindset, consistently demonstrating urgency and a proven track record of collaboration and taking ownership in projects.

 

WHAT WILL YOU DO?
  • Assist in the design and development of the Varicent platform.  Onboarding current incentive plans in to the system and assisting with the build and configuration of calculations and reporting.
  • Assist in the design and development of new compensation plans to meet organizational objectives.
  • Participate and test expected results and identify issues in a test based environment.
  • Analyze compensation-related data and performance metrics to identify trends, discrepancies and areas for improvements.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations to leadership for plan optimization, performance improvements and alignment with business objectives.
  • Create and deliver comprehensive reporting packages on a quarterly basis, providing insights into compensation plan performance.
  • Gather and interpret new and evolving business requirements for compensation plans.
  • Develop technical documentation for system configurations and calculations.
  • Oversee the configuration and administration of variable compensation plans in an ICM system.
  • Write plan documents that detail the structure, rules and metrics of the compensation programs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as HR, Lines of Business, Finance, IT, Compliance, Risk and Legal to ensure accurate compensation plan implementation.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant policies, regulations and industry standards.
  • Provide troubleshooting and support for system issues related to compensation calculations.
  • Ensure files are accurate and submitted to payroll in a timely manner for payout processing.

 

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED? Required Qualifications*
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in incentive compensation system administrator role, configuring plans, dashboards and reporting.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience supporting users, managing priorities, setting expectations and driving issues to resolution.
  • Minimum 1+ year of experience creating test plans and conducting testing.
  • Minimum 1+ year of experience working with business users to understand and document business requirements.
  Additional Qualifications
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Incentive Compensation Management system knowledge preferred.  Familiarity with Varicent platform a plus.
  • Ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms.
  • Ability to work independently, solve problems and meet deadlines.
  • Balanced business and technical acumen.
  • Self-motivated, able to take initiative, and work independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • General understanding of software development cycles.
  • Prior experience in banking environment preferred.
  • Ability to read basic scripts in SQL a plus.

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?   Compensation Starting base salary: $60,500 to $104,500 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
