GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Under the direction of the Airport Safety & Operations Manager, performs professional work to ensure compliance with all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), State of Louisiana, and East Baton Rouge City-Parish laws, rules, and regulations regarding airport management. Work involves the overall coordination of departmental operations in the area of federal and state compliance. The incumbent is subject to a twenty-four-hour call for situations needing immediate attention. Work also involves the use of independent judgment within established guidelines and is reviewed through written reports and conferences. Supervises the Operations Division. Performs other work as requested.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in aviation management, airway science, or a related field and two years of experience in airport operations.

SUBSTITUTIONS
Bachelor's degree in business or public administration or a related field, supplemented by four years of experience in airport operations or a closely related field, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

OTHER JOB ASPECTS
For security reasons, as per TSA provision 1542; all applicants/employees of the Greater Baton Rouge Airport District who have access to restricted areas will be required to have a ten (10) year criminal background check to the extent allowable by the law.
