GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Under the direction of the Environmental Services Financial Manager, performs highly responsible supervisory and ieministratv work in assisting with the direction and financial administration of operating capital improvement projects for the Department of Environmental Services. Work involves the efficient administration of all financial and administrative mattert Eastciated wih Baton Rouge Sewerage Commission (EBROSCO), Sanitation, and Stormwater operating and capital improvement programs. Work involves the supervision of professional, technical, and clerical staff; financial stewardship of City-Parish funds; and, in the absence of the Environmental Services F inancial Manager, representation of the department in a variety of public forums (e.g. Metro Council meetings). Work requires exceptional teamwork and the use of independent judgment within established policy guidelines. Performs other work as requested.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree with at least twenty-four semester (thirty-six quarter) hours of a university professional accounting curriculum, and f our years of experience in accounting, budgeting, auditing, or financial administration work, including one year of supervisory experience (may include budget or project management).

SUBSTITUTIONS
Equivalent higher education in accounting may substitut e for work experience; CPA may substitute for one year of work experience.

EXAMINATION
Professional Financial examination required (may take up to 3 hours from test start time). Subject areas and other exam preparation information are available at: https://www.brla.gov/261/Examination-Preparation. Examinations are available on most Tuesdays, 8:30 – 9:00 am, check-in, Thursdays, *12:00 - 12:30 pm, and Fridays, 8:30 – 9:00 am check-in. Please call Human Resources Recruiting and Examination at -3132 to confirm testing dates and times. Test check-in is on a first come-first served basis. There are occasions where the test room is filled to capacity and applicants are asked to return on another day for testing. Picture identification, proof of social security number and a completed online employment application are required for test r oom admittance. *Where exam volume is expected to be high, chec-in of applicants may begin as early as 11:30 am in order to complete the check-in process prior to the required 12:30 cut -off time.
