GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Under the direction of an employee of a higher classification, performs professional supervisory library work as a section head at the Main library, as a manager of a larger or regional branch, or as an assistant to a division head. Work is performed in accordance with professional library administrative practices and procedures. General direction is exercised over professional and paraprofessional personnel. Work is reviewed through personal conferences, written reports and results obtained. Performs other work as requested.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Master's degree from an accredited school of library and information science and two years of experience in professional library work, including one year of supervisory experience.

SUBSTITUTIONS
Equivalent higher education from an accredited school of library and information science may substitute for work experience.
