The Open City and Technology Branch enables all of these services as well as the employees who provide them through the ever-evolving use of data, information and technology.

Join our dynamic Open City and Technology Branch as a Business Technology Project Manager. In this role, you'll lead the charge in enhancing customer service, fostering collaboration, and championing city-wide innovation. Your mission? To ensure our services align with business needs, support the city's strategic vision, and deliver dependable, high-quality, cost-effective, sustainable information technology services.

Reporting to the Program Manager, Business Engagement, you will function as an internal management consultant, guiding our business partners to leverage data and technology to solve business problems, and leading the business and IT subject matter experts to define project approach and delivery while aligning with the corporate technology and project management framework. 

What will you do?

  • Ensure new technology investments are strategically aligned and are contributing to the overall goals of the associated strategic plan and goals
  • Translate complex problems into accessible formats for various stakeholders with varying technical knowledge and business acumen
  • Manage all aspects of multiple high-budget, complex projects, including vendor and stakeholder management, budget oversight, and ensuring adherence to timelines and project scope
  • Oversee the procurement for technology projects including Requests for Information (RFI), Requests for Proposals (RFP), and evaluation Guides and contracts
  • Conduct thorough assessments of the business infrastructure, systems, and processes and identify technology gaps or areas for improvement
  • Collaborate with other service delivery partners including procurement, strategy, privacy, risk management, data governance, legal, communications to ensure the project delivery is comprehensively addressed
  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams consisting of IT and Business subject matter experts to advance complex technology and transformation projects
  • Consult and advise on available enterprise solutions, leveraging existing technology assets to optimize the City's return on investment
  • Acquire and maintain broad product and technology knowledge of the City computing environment
  • Additional related duties as required
