Description
The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) requires a highly skilled administrative professional to fulfill a unique and challenging position. This position will provide administrative support to the Deputy Chief in charge of the Innovation and Information and Analytics Bureau, which includes Information Technology Division and Information and Analytics Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing confidential, high-level administrative support to the Deputy Chief in charge of the Innovation and Information and Analytics Bureau, as well as the Superintendent and Executive Director.
- Exercise sound judgement and discretion when handling highly sensitive and confidential information.
- Manage complex calendars and scheduling; coordinate meetings and engagements, including booking rooms, supporting virtual attendees, preparing and distributing material, and arranging refreshments as required.
- Draft, format, edit and proofread correspondence and materials (ie: e-mails, letters, reports, briefing notes, memos and presentations) to a high standard.
- Managing incoming and outgoing correspondence and communications to ensure timely and effective information flow.
- Support tracking of the Bureau Operational Plan, including maintaining tracking sheets, monitoring due dates, and following up with divisions on outstanding items.
- Track priorities, assignments and diary dates; prepare status updates and follow up on deadlines to ensure items are completed on time.
- Coordinate travel, including travel documents and reservations; prepare expense claims and reconcile corporate credit cards (VISA) and other expenditures as required.
- Research, compile, and summarize information to support service directives, briefing notes and ad hoc reports.
- Support financial administration by analyzing monthly operating budget variance reports and providing summary commentary as required
- Maintain organized electronic and hard-copy records, including confidential files, to support efficient retrieval and compliance with information-handling requirements.
- Provide administrative support to the bureau, including coordinating attendance reports and vacation schedules and maintaining office supply inventory.
- Work collaboratively with the Office of the Chief Administrative Staff; provide support and back-up coverage for other Executive/Administrative Assistants as required.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- Completion of the twelfth (12th) school grade including business subjects with emphasis on general office practices or completion of an appropriate certificate program from an approved business school/college; and a minimum of five (5) years progressively responsible and diversified office experience including a minimum of two (2) years' experience in the supervision of a moderate to large clerical support unit OR Completion of the twelfth (12th) school grade including business subjects with emphasis on subjects related to the area of specialization or completion of an appropriate certificate program from an approved business college/school and a minimum of five (5) years progressively responsible experience in the area of specialization.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams, MS Forms, SharePoint and Adobe Acrobat Pro

Hours of Work: 33.75 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Hours of work may be subject to the terms and conditions of a variable hours of work program.
Salary Range: 82M, Salary Grade: 001, $36.31 - $45.61 (Hourly), $2,451.10 - $3,078.70 (Bi-Weekly), $63,972.67 - $80,355.18 (Annually).
