The City of Edmonton is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Economic Development Officer (EDO) to play a pivotal role in driving our city's economic growth and prosperity. The EDO will be a champion of the Economic Action Plan (EAP), working to elevate its profile and strengthen collaboration between the City, its economic development agencies, and the business community.

What will you do?
- Plan and execute the annual economic development symposium, including theme development, speaker acquisition, logistics, marketing, budget, and sponsorship
- Showcase the Economic Action Plan (EAP) and its positive impact on the local economy and business community
- Promote the Edmonton business community and the work of the City of Edmonton's economic development agencies and partners
- Conduct follow-up activities to maintain engagement and drive action after the symposium
- Lead data collection, analysis, and storytelling for the annual economic report
- Develop and implement storytelling initiatives to complement the annual report and maintain engagement
- Ensure participation and contribution from City-funded economic organizations and the business community
- Facilitate dialogue and collaboration to advance the EAP
- Support the initiatives of the City of Edmonton's economic development agencies and partners (e.g., trade missions, storytelling, investment attraction)
- Build relationships with key stakeholders, including business leaders and City agencies
- Implement various engagement strategies (e.g., formal meetings, focus groups, informal check-ins, surveys, forums, etc.)
- Leverage relationships to advance programs like the Business Census and the City of Edmonton's Shop Local program
- Conduct equitable engagement to ensure the EAP remains relevant and representative of the business community
- Provide recommendations to management based on engagement and research
