What will you do?

• Plan and execute the annual economic development symposium, including theme development, speaker acquisition, logistics, marketing, budget, and sponsorship
• Showcase the Economic Action Plan (EAP) and its positive impact on the local economy and business community
• Promote the Edmonton business community and the work of the City of Edmonton's economic development agencies and partners
• Conduct follow-up activities to maintain engagement and drive action after the symposium
• Lead data collection, analysis, and storytelling for the annual economic report
• Develop and implement storytelling initiatives to complement the annual report and maintain engagement
• Ensure participation and contribution from City-funded economic organizations and the business community
• Facilitate dialogue and collaboration to advance the EAP
• Support the initiatives of the City of Edmonton's economic development agencies and partners (e.g., trade missions, storytelling, investment attraction)
• Build relationships with key stakeholders, including business leaders and City agencies
• Implement various engagement strategies (e.g., formal meetings, focus groups, informal check-ins, surveys, forums, etc.)
• Leverage relationships to advance programs like the Business Census and the City of Edmonton's Shop Local program
• Conduct equitable engagement to ensure the EAP remains relevant and representative of the business community
• Provide recommendations to management based on engagement and research
