Description
The Muttart Conservatory preserves, grows and displays one of Canada's largest botanical collections, sharing knowledge and enthusiasm for nature with its visitors year-round.
The Conservatory also grows the annual flowers for the City of Edmonton. As a Labourer II, you will work under the guidance, coaching and mentorship of the Grower Team.
What will you do?
- Perform horticulture tasks, including transplanting, planting, stocking, seeding, watering, mixing soils, and filling flats and pots with soil
- Maintain tasks associated with the greenhouses, pavilions, work stations, outdoor gardens, customer seating areas including the patio and other public spaces.
- Operate greenhouse equipment for plant production as required, including seeder machine, bale buster, pallet jack and punchable transplant machine
- Assist with annual plant pick-ups
- Assist with office plant contract services
- Work with Grower team to complete feature pyramid change overs
- Fulfill online plant sale orders by collaborating with the team
- Knowledge of safe work practices
- Other duties as required
