Join our dynamic Community Safety and Risk leadership team as the Manager, Outreach and Public Education. In this pivotal role, you'll drive impactful public education, community engagement, and outreach initiatives. The Manager leads a diverse portfolio encompassing public safety programs, strategic partnerships, and innovative sponsorship opportunities. Elevate public awareness for Edmonton Fire Rescue Services (EFRS), inspire career recruitment, and build stronger, safer communities.
Reporting to the Deputy Fire Chief, Community Safety and Risk, the Manager will craft and implement engaging strategies to connect with Edmontonians, promote EFRS services, and foster meaningful relationships with organizations and agencies. Drive a holistic approach to public safety education, reaching all corners of our vibrant city.
What will you do?
- Lead and shape public education initiatives to enhance community safety
- Develop and implement public safety programs for Edmontonians.
- Drive outreach activities to promote diverse careers within Edmonton Fire Rescue Services (EFRS).
- Lead the Public Education Team, including Fire Prevention Officers and a Training Instructor to deliver on the goals of EFRS
- Build and strengthen community partnerships, with a focus on underrepresented groups
- Cultivate relationships with external agencies and other fire services in the region
- Manage sponsorship opportunities to expand EFRS volunteerism and community programming
- Foster positive employee engagement to align public education and outreach efforts
- Utilize Gender-Based Analysis Plus (GBA ) to evaluate and implement inclusive public education and outreach programs ensuring they meet the diverse needs of the Edmonton community
