Do you have the theoretical knowledge and communication skills to safely coach, correct and develop the physical health of others?
The Community Recreation and Culture Branch is looking for trainers that are personable, confident, knowledgeable and have a positive and supportive attitude. We are seeking Personal Trainers that have a passion for providing members an amazing experience at the Recreation Centres across the City to lead personal training and/or group fitness programs. If you are a fully qualified trainer and want to share your passion for health and fitness with City of Edmonton patrons, then this is the position for you!
As a Personal Trainer, you will use your knowledge of human anatomy and exercise principles to:
Provide private (1 on 1) personal training sessions to clients
Provide semi-private training sessions (2-4 individuals) to clients
Fitness orientation programs for adults and Youth In Action programs for youth 12-15
Determine clients' exercise needs through consultation with clients and assessments
Develop, document and implement individualized exercise plans based on client's goals, abilities and specific needs
Educate and coach clients on how to exercise safely and effectively while providing encouragement and motivation
Monitor, track and assess client progress and adapt programs as needed
Demonstrate safety in all aspects of planning and delivery of programs, with an emphasis on preventing and managing injuries
Contact clients within 48 hours of being assigned and build a positive and professional relationship
Track and redeem personal training sessions
Submit timesheets
Perform other duties as required
