The venue regularly hosts sold out concerts, motorsport events and international sporting events in soccer and rugby as well as several amateur sporting and community events. The Usher Supervisor at Commonwealth Stadium provides support to the Usher Manager and provides leadership and guidance to a team of Ushers so that we can provide a safe and enjoyable experience for all.

As an Usher Supervisor you will:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the Ticket Takers, Pass Gate Attendants, and Ushers as directed by the Stadium Major Event Supervisor
    • Instruct Ticket Takers, Pass Gate Attendants and Ushers of their duties
    • Regulate the appearance of staff prior to each event; ensure all staff are in complete uniform, and look neat, clean and pressed
    • Assign Ticket Takers, Pass Gate Attendants, and Ushers to specific areas of the Stadium
    • Patrol the Stadium during events; ensure Ticket Takers, Pass Gate Attendants and Ushers are at their assigned posts and are properly executing their duties
    • Assist staff and resolve problems which may arise or refer to the appropriate person; Command Centre or City Police
  • Ensure admittance to events is properly restricted to authorized personnel and ticket holders
  • Provide directions and assistance to the Stadium's patrons, as requested
  • Scheduling of staff and communicating to the team to ensure appropriate staffing levels are met
  • Dot plan and deployment/post instructions to be compiled and reviewed for each event
  • Completion of After-Action Reports post-event summarizing area operations
  • Oversee the completion of the Incident Reports post event
  • Should the Usher Supervisor not be available for an event the Assistant Usher Supervisor will assume the responsibility of the team and administration tasks, conflict resolution, and escalation of incidents, area management and training of their team
  • Delegate and/or performs an initial check of all areas for unusual objects; reports any to Manager or Commonwealth Stadium Command Centre as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Stadium Major Event Supervisor
