Manager in Training

The Manager in Training program is an accelerated, developmental opportunity designed to prepare you for a Home Center management role in 18-30 months. During the program, you will collaborate with the Director of Manager Development and Home Center Management to oversee a million-dollar business, providing leadership and insight into the development strategy of the store. Through the program, you will learn all sales, operations, leadership, and internal strategy, allowing you to understand the significant part you will play in the team's success. Our training experience provides you with all the skills necessary for a successful career in management and professional sales.
The manager is responsible for running a profitable organization within company guidelines. Their duties fall into seven (7) major categories:
Leadership- Develop the foundation for what it takes to become a successful leader in our organization.
Marketing – Bringing the consumer to the Home Center.
Personal Sales & Sales Management – All sales activity at the sales center.
Insurance – Securing appropriate insurance based on what is best for the customers.
Operations Management – Running all aspects of the business.
General Management – All duties related to team members.
Service Management – All set–up and delivery activities and provide world–class customer service.
Areas of Development:
Be familiar with Clayton products, sales process, and focus on developing your personal sales pipeline.
Develop marketing strategies to increase your personal brand to drive sales traffic.
Facilitate weekly sales meetings with team. Learn how to successfully incorporate development opportunities, relevant training, Company initiatives and communications, goal setting, etc.
Understand and analyze the P&L statement.
Understand the Home Center current inventory and how to select future inventory.
Understand Company policy and procedures and partner with Regional TMX partner on any needs.
Develop an understanding of the service aspects involved in home sales.
Ensures customer satisfaction is maintained at a high level/ CX (Customer Experience) & VOC (Voice of the Customer), NPS (Net Promoter Score).
Develops business plan for future Home Center growth and profitability.
Setting objectives for the long-term success of the Home Center and each team member.
Understand the construction process i.e., site preparation, delivery and set up.
Cooperative and collaborative, willing and eager to work in a team environment, assist with miscellaneous duties as required.
Learn functionality of the Customer Relationship Management Software (CRM) including but not limited to, Vantage, Digital Deal board, Construction Project Management (CPM), HX (Portal, My Home Service, Dispatch).
Be knowledgeable HouseSmart book and the organizations 4 pillars (Built Smart, Design Smart, Energy Smart Zero, and Budget Smart).
Requirements:
Strong business acumen.
Ability to work required schedule, including Saturdays.
Ability to walk the lot and show homes throughout all seasons.
Ability to move and lift furniture, promotional items, etc. (up to 75 lbs.)
Willingness to submit for a criminal background & drug screening.
Willingness to relocate for future Home Center Manager opportunities.
Four-year college degree is preferred.
Compensation:
$60,000 minimum base salary + commission (yearly)
