Description:

We are looking for an independent and adaptable Chaplain who excels at promoting teamwork and demonstrates a high degree of professionalism while providing excellent patient care. This leader will have a positive impact on our patients and their team in a fast-paced, rewarding health care facility.  The ideal applicant will be a skilled advocate with effective communication and interpersonal skills and a willingness to collaborate with internal and external partners. Our goal is to support patients and families throughout their health care journey.  

Qualifications:

  • Masters or doctoral level degree in theology seminary by an accredited school required.
  • National accreditation (ACPE or NACC) preferred.
  • Experience working with death and dying, individuals/family/caregiver in a healthcare setting. 2-5 years' experience as clergy or chaplain work in hospice or palliative care.
  • Must hold a valid Minnesota driver's license.

Responsibilities and Skills:

  • Primary focus areas include Hospice, Oncology, patients in the hospital, and CRMC employees.
  • Ability to facilitate a spiritual assessment and provide religious/spiritual resources appropriate to the care of patients, families, and staff across the continuum of care.
  • Provide/arrange for provision of sacraments/ rituals/prayers and integrative modalities at the request of patients and/or family members in a manner aligning with the traditions of the patient, family member, or significant other.
  • Knowledge of and ability to respond appropriately to the spiritual, ethical, and theological issues commonly encountered in the hospital setting.
  • Skilled in providing effective spiritual care to those experiencing illness, injury, crisis, end of life, death, ethical dilemma, spiritual distress.
  • Respect for and appreciation of diversity and differences including age, culture, language, sexual orientation, and religious/spiritual beliefs/practices.
  • Self-motivated, able to function independently.
