Day shifts only Monday through Friday. POSITION SUMMARY
- The Radiology Nurse is responsible for providing safe, efficient and the highest quality of care for patients undergoing invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures performed in the Radiology department. They must perform alongside other members of the health care team toward the achievement of the goals of Cuyuna Regional Medical Center.
- Education and Experience:
- Prior experience in Radiology preferred.
- License/Certificates:
- Current Minnesota RN license. Current American Heart Association BLS certification required within 30 days of hire. American Heart Association ACLS required within 4 months of hire.

- Ability to interact effectively with physicians, patients and family members, staff and other healthcare providers.

- Knowledge of applied science principles in nursing situations involving techniques and procedures, hygiene and safety measures.

- Ability to recognize manifestation of physical and emotional problems.
- Knowledge and skills to review charts and enter data efficiently.
- Teaching ability and ability to work independently using good judgment.
- Ability to properly and safely operate all equipment required for this position.
- Knowledge and use of community resources.
- May be assigned to specialty areas.
- RN:
- Exercises concern for the patient's welfare, maintains knowledge of the patient/resident/client's condition, administers medication and performs treatment while practicing and maintaining high ethical standards.
- Responisble for the direct and indirect care of the RAdiology patient, client, under the guidance of the patients/clients and family records.
- Remains up-to-date on new nursing skills and technology, utilizing the nursing process (observation, assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation) in the delivery of care.
- Performs duties in accordance with physician's orders, the Medical Center's policies, methods, and techniques, and in coordinating with other departments and Medical Center personnel.
- Provides leadership and promotes teamwork.
- When requested, participates in in-service programs, education programs, and orientation of new personnel.
- Radiology RN:
- Acts as liaison between radiology, nursing units, medical staff, and clinic staff.
- Participates in the development and evaluation of patient care policies and procedures in radiology.
- Provides educational opportunities for patients, staff, and families.
- Provides pre and post assessment for patients scheduled for invasive radiology procedures.
- Demonstrate Standards of Excellence when other duties are assigned.
