This position is located in the Total Quality Management (TQM) Department of Eastern Louisiana Mental Health System (ELMHS), within the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH)/Office of Behavioral Health (OBH). ELMHS has a patient population that includes Civil and Forensic Clients. ELMHS operates two major campus sites in Jackson, Louisiana with approximately 697 inpatient and/or residential beds, as well as many outpatient/community Forensic System locations throughout the State. The total appropriation for ELMHS is approximately $100 million with an authorization for approximately 1287 T. O. positions.

This position may be filled as either a Probational or Job Appointment (open to all qualified applicants); a promotion (open to all statewide classified and Agency wide permanent status employees); by Detail to Special Duty; or as a part-time WAE. Current permanent status, classified employees may be required to accept a Probational appointed if selected. If filled as a Job Appointment, there is a possibility that this position may be converted to a Probational Appointment should funding become available.

Salary is negotiable based on experience.

SPECIAL ENTRANCE RATE (SER) OF PAY:

RN 1:$2,387.20-biweekly/$29.84-hourly

RN 2:$2,554.40-biweekly/$31.93-hourly

RN 3:$2,733.60-biweekly/$34.17-hourly

Premium Pay (Per Hour Physically Worked)

$10.00 - Recruitment / Retention

$2.00 - Recruitment / Retention (Specialty Unit Pay)

Facility Longevity Pay (Per Hour Physically Worked)

$2.00 - 0 months to less than 6 months

$3.00 - 6 months to less than 3 years

$4.00 - 3 years to less than 5 years

$5.00 - 5 years or greater

The maximum salary for the Registered Nurse 3 is $103,293.00. Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Possession of a valid Louisiana license or temporary permit to practice professional nursing or a multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state.

Performs professional nurse duties that may include administration of blood and blood components, I. V. medications, parenteral nutrition, central line therapy, etc., under the close supervision of a registered nurse of a higher level.

Participates in development, implementation and evaluation of the treatment plan process according to defined standards; assist with writing the treatment plans when assigned by Nurse Manager. Assist with unit quality by providing input to multidisciplinary teams. Identifies process or performance problems and reports to appropriate staff. Performs all duties required of professional nurses and serves as a role model to level professional nurses or paraprofessionals. Audit to insure treatment plans are legibly, accurate and completed in a timely manner; reviews and interprets patient data and implements appropriate nursing interventions based on evaluation and reassessment of patient response; and participates and provides nursing input during case conferences and master treatment planning. Will teach and train unit nurses if they identify training or in-service on treatment plans are needed.
