Position Summary
Discovery at Home is seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Nursing to join our team. Under the direct supervision of the Administrator, the Director of Nursing plays a key leadership role in planning, coordinating, directing, and evaluating home health services. This position is responsible for supervising clinical personnel, directing client services, supporting staff development, and promoting public relations within the community. Additionally, the Clinical Manager will oversee orientation, in-service programs, and continuous clinical education for agency staff. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and program development skills to ensure regulatory compliance and the successful implementation of service goals and objectives. The Clinical Manager will also assist with budgeting, staffing assessments, and policy development, and will serve as a vital link between field staff and executive leadership.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensures that the agency follows all federal, state, local laws and regulations as it pertains to clinical care.
- Responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting occurrence trends, and if necessary, develop/implement improvement plans.
- Partners with Administrator and other team members to analyze and maintain all patient and team member health safety.
- Directs staff in performance of their duties.
- Keeps program personnel; up to date with state-of-the-art clinical information and practices staff development, including orientation, in-service education and continuing education.
- Oversees the implementation, and evaluation, of client care services inclusive of regulatory licensure and certification criteria and accreditation standards.
- Responsible for overseeing the completion of the monthly updates/inservices.
- Responsible for overseeing orientation programs.
- Keeps staff informed of Agency developments, needs, ect., and encourages their participation in problem solving, at the organization and community levels.
- Oversees all QAPI and utilization review activities.
- Coordinates patient care.
- Coordinates referrals.
- Ensures the development, implementation, and updates of the individualized plan of care.
- Ensures adequate clinical supplies are available.
- Encourages, and assists, personnel to continue self-improvement, through formal education, educational meetings, and active participation in professional and related organizations.
- Assists with interviews and hires select home healthcare personnel.
- Participates in a rotating on-call schedule.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse
- Must have at least two years of homecare experience and, at least, one year of supervisory experience.
- BSL Certification
