Divisional Director of Human Resources (HR) – Seaton Senior Living

Location: Remote. Candidates will be based in the Mid-Atlantic region (NY, NJ, PA, DE, MD, DC, or VA) located to nearby metro areas with strong airport access.

Compensation: $115k-$120k base + 10% bonus

Travel: 15%

Seaton Senior Living is seeking an experienced Divisional Director of Human Resources (HR) to provide leadership and guidance to regional and divisional HR teams across the Mid-Atlantic region. This role is responsible for ensuring consistency of HR programs, compliance, and culture while mentoring HR leaders and driving initiatives that attract, retain, and develop top talent.

We are looking for a strategic, collaborative HR leader who can:

  • Provide mentorship, training, and support to Regional and Divisional HR Directors.
  • Oversee consistency in HR policies, procedures, and best practices across multiple operating companies.
  • Partner with leadership to deliver HR solutions that drive culture, engagement, and performance.
  • Guide investigations, employee relations, and corrective actions while mitigating legal risk.
  • Support community transitions, acquisitions, and onboarding processes.
  • Deliver training and development programs for managers and team members.
  • Monitor HR metrics such as turnover and develop action plans for improvement.

Your Role: Divisional Director of Human Resources (HR) 

As Divisional Director of Human Resources (HR), you'll act as both a strategic partner and a mentor. You'll be responsible for ensuring consistent delivery of HR programs across your region, guiding HR leaders in areas of compliance, employee relations, and culture development. This role includes frequent travel to communities and direct collaboration with divisional and corporate leadership.

What You'll Do

HR Leadership & Mentorship

  • Train and mentor new Regional and Divisional HR Directors, including regular check-ins during onboarding.
  • Provide guidance on employment matters, employee relations, and corrective actions.
  • Share best practices and tools across HR teams to ensure consistency.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Identify areas of legal exposure and advise on compliance with FLSA, Title VII, FMLA, and other regulations.
  • Conduct HR audits for communities within your region and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Oversee investigations into harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and other complaints.
  • Coordinate with Oasis/PEO on EPLI claims, unemployment, and leave of absence processes.

Talent Development & Culture

  • Implement orientation and mentorship programs for team members.
  • Support managers with hiring, promotions, and performance management.
  • Recommend and deliver training programs on compliance, management practices, and harassment prevention.
  • Partner with leadership to create development plans for managers and staff.

Metrics & Strategic Initiatives

  • Monitor turnover and other HR metrics; develop strategies to address challenges.
  • Conduct annual needs assessments with executive leadership.
  • Support acquisitions and community transitions with HR tools and processes.
  • Collaborate with corporate HR on systems, handbooks, job descriptions, and compensation evaluations.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or related field.
  • 7+ years of demonstrated experience in human resources or a related field.
  • Certification as Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or SHRM-CP preferred (must be obtained within one year if not already certified).
  • Strong knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and compliance practices.
  • Experience mentoring or managing other HR professionals.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing needs.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
  • Ability to travel frequently across the assigned region.
