General Summary:
The Corporate Safety & Security Specialist – Executive Protection Focus is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of corporate facilities and executives. This role involves conducting threat assessments, providing close protection, liaison with third-party close protection vendors and coordinating with law enforcement and internal departments. The specialist will also perform daily administrative safety and security duties which may include life-safety related functions within the Dollar General corporate headquarters when needed
Job Details:Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide close protection and maintain situational awareness for executives during travel, on-site visits, and high-profile events. Responsibilities include advance planning, route and venue assessments, coordination with internal stakeholders and external agencies, and real-time monitoring to ensure executive safety. Support may also include residential security checks, travel logistics, and discreet presence during sensitive engagements.
- Conduct threat and risk assessments for corporate facilities and executive protection. Execute emergency response plans, coordinate with law enforcement and internal departments, and lead regular safety drills to ensure preparedness and compliance.
- Perform daily administrative safety and security duties including managing access control systems, issuing ID badges, inspecting security equipment, maintaining incident records, supporting safety training programs, and coordinating with facilities management.
- Monitor security systems, respond to alarms and incidents, and develop and implement security protocols and procedures. Prepare detailed reports on security incidents and threat assessments.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
- This position requires an individual who can work well with others in a team environment and possesses excellent customer service skills.
- Well-developed communication skills both orally and written are required.
- Knowledge of MS Office, MS Word, MS Power Point and Excel required.
- Knowledge and understanding of all DG Emergency Response Procedures.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, walk, run, and lift up to 70lbs unassisted.
- Maintain CPR/AED/First Aid and First Responder certifications.
- Maintain Armed Security Officer Licensing requirements through the state of Tennessee.
- Experience and certifications in executive protection or close protection roles.
- Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, security management, or a related field (preferred but not required with equivalent experience).
Work Experience &/or Education:
- Any combination of education and experience that would provide the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying.
- Typical qualifications would be graduation from a law enforcement program from an accredited college, university or police academy and at least 5 years of experience in security management, law enforcement or related military experience.
- Licensing as an armed security officer.
