General Summary:

Human Resource Manager provides guidance with training, coaching, and development as they work with the onsite leadership team to support each location. The HR Manager will utilize analytics, expertise, and workforce trends to influence decisions that drive and improve organizational processes, programs, engagement & retention. Responsibilities also include the development and implementation of recruiting initiatives that build bench strength, reduce turnover and ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state laws.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a high-performance team of HR Business Partners.
  • Create and maintain a market specific knowledge base that supplies the talent needs of the business model (hourly and exempt positions).
  • Administers or coordinates responsibilities in the following functional areas: Employee Relations, Talent Management, Learning & Development, Talent Assessment & Succession Planning, Training, Performance Management, Policy implementation & Administration, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, and Employment Law Compliance.
  • Facilitates or provides learning and development / training to the workforce.
  • Responsible for maintaining open door policy and an environment free of organized labor through effective positive employee relations.
  • Responsible to develop and maintain a strategic partnership with Director and Assistant Directors in all terminal.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Experience conducting full life cycle recruiting across multiple locations.
  • Extensive knowledge of state and federal employment and Department of Transportation laws and regulations.
  • Ability to mediate between employees during conflict resolution.
  • Ability to achieve measurable results through collaboration and influence.
  • Exceptional planning, coordination, project management and implementation skills.
  • Advanced ability to communicate with employees at all levels (both verbal and written communication skills).
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of employee relations practices and investigation skills for employee relations cases.
Qualifications:

Work Experience &/or Education:

  • BS/BA in Business Administration, Human Resources or applicable training in these areas with another degree; equivalent work experience may be substituted for degree.
  • Proven track record of recruiting within an organization.
  • Strong sourcing background with experience filling roles in a scarce job market.
  • Three to five years' experience in benefits, employee relations, or as a human resources generalist with at least 2 years' experience in recruiting.
  • Ability to develop relationships and effectively influence with key stakeholders and candidates.
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills including strong communication skills.
  • Note: This position requires weekly travel and overnight stays; a current driver's license and acceptable driving history is required.

Work Conditions:

  • Work is conducted in a remote office setting.
  • Up to 50% travel required to buildings and partnership locations.
