Job Details:

General Summary:

  • Responsible for partnering with Directors and Human Resource Managers to build the company's bench of human capital by providing strategic and direct leadership in the areas of training, design and the development of employees.
  • This role will oversee the implementation of required changes and enhancements to existing learning/training programs and team structures and be accountable for the ongoing development of the Learning Operations Managers and the execution of Learning and Development programs.
  • Provide thought leadership to Directors and HR Managers from both a coaching and completion culture that ensues learning/training solutions that fit within the flow of work, engage employees, and improve operational outcomes.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Enhance individual and team performance by providing direct support of the onboarding and continuous development of Learning Operations Managers in their respective divisions.
  • Communicate and oversee the execution of training at all levels within their respective divisions.
  • Analyze and understand data to measure the training program performance within their respective divisions.
  • Maintain strategic partnerships with the DC Directors and Human Resource Managers within their respective divisions, assisting them with organizational development plans and standardization efforts.
  • Facilitate and manage execution of The Leadership Development Program for their respective divisions, using The Leadership Journey.
  • Provide leadership on the development of company-wide programs ensuring that non-exempt and leadership training fits within the flow of work, engages employees and improves operational outcomes.
  • Maintain current knowledge on advances in the learning and development field, as well as, changes in the legal and safety compliance environment that will improve or affect the department's methods and practices.

  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills including a willingness to consistently provide superior customer service.
  • Demonstrated ability to react appropriately under pressure, apply good judgment in ambiguous situations, uses sound decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of training techniques and development tools.
  • Outstanding verbal, written, and technical communication abilities.
  • Perform basic PC applications, including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Outlook, etc.

Work Experience &/or Education:

  • Five (+) years' experience in employee training and development or in Distribution Operations with an employee development emphasis.
  • Bachelor's degree with three (+) years distribution center training experience; equivalent education and experience combination would be considered. Advanced degree preferred.

Note: This position requires 50% travel and overnight stays; a valid driver's license and acceptable driving history is required.
