General Summary:

Responsible for the management of the talent management life cycle to include succession planning, performance management, performance assessments, leadership development and other talent development related processes and programs throughout the organization. Design and develop programs aimed to grow the leadership capabilities within DG's talent pipeline.

Job Details:

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manages overall Talent Management process: Goal Setting, Performance Management, Mid- Year Calibration, IGDPs etc. Builds and utilizes assessment data to design leadership development for frontline leaders to director level positions. 
  • Program management of: Employee Opinion Survey data, 360 data and leadership competencies, and partnerships with Universities/Colleges including the Education Assistance Program. Reports out to HR leaders on progress to utilization, makes recommendations for improvements and implements actions approved by leadership. 
  • Establishes employee development metrics tied to business priorities and plans, talent management and succession planning processes to provide rationale and return for investment in employee development initiatives. Reports metrics to HR Leadership Team.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Ability to design and develop programs to build employee capabilities and create a talent development pipeline.
  • Ability to assess organization needs and capabilities gaps.
  • Ability to plan and manage multiple strategic projects.
  • Strong consultation and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to analyze financial/quantitative data in context of performance metrics to ensure that curriculum & development program deliverables are tied to key business metrics and demonstrating return on investment.
  • Knowledge and experience to utilize, assess, and select the appropriate technology to communicate, implement, manage and improve the design and delivery of employee development curriculum and programs (Power Point, Excel, WORD).
  • Ability to identify and establish key relationships with business partners to ensure that employee development is relevant to business growth and development as well as provide consulting and guidance in context of employee development and performance improvement.
  • Ability to lead project teams, keep decision makers on track and within a defined project scope and deliverables.
  • Broad understanding of HR disciplines with the ability to influence, partner and collaborate across functions and boundaries.
Qualifications:

Work Experience &/or Education:

  • Bachelor's degree strongly desired. 5 – 7 years' experience working within an HR team with at least 3 years' experience designing and developing leadership development programs.
  • HR generalist experience preferred.
  • Some supervisory experience preferred.
