Company Overview:
The Private Fleet Operations Senior Analyst is responsible for creating and maintaining reporting tools, managing system integrations, and ensuring the efficient operation of transportation systems that support Dollar General's private fleet. This role works closely with Transportation, Distribution, and IT teams to provide actionable insights, maintain accurate data, and implement system improvements to enhance overall fleet performance.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Reporting and Analytics
• Design, build, and maintain operational and financial reports and dashboards to provide actionable insights and drive informed decisions for the private fleet.
• Monitor key performance metrics and trends using scorecards and dashboards.
• Conduct data analysis to identify opportunities for operational improvements and cost savings.
• Prepare and present insights to senior leadership to drive strategic initiatives.
System Integration & Maintenance:
• Manage the integration, maintenance, and optimization of transportation systems (e.g., Blue Yonder Transportation Manager, Platform Science, Mastery, Snowflake).
• Conduct system testing to ensure proper functionality and reliability for fleet operations
• Collaborate with IT as well as external stakeholders to implement system enhancements and resolve technical challenges.
• Maintain and document system processes to ensure consistency and compliance.
Process Improvement:
• Evaluate current system processes and reporting tools to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Lead initiatives to streamline data flows and enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.
• Stay up to date on emerging technologies and recommend system upgrades or new tools to improve fleet operations.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
• Strong knowledge of transportation systems, reporting tools, and data automation processes.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and data visualization tools.
• Familiarity with data platforms such as 1010data and Snowflake, as well as system testing and automation tools.
• Experience designing and implementing automated data workflows and processes.
• Strong ability to analyze large datasets and translate findings into actionable insights.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
• Knowledge of domestic transportation and dedicated fleet operations, with a focus on providing analytical support to enhance performance and efficiency.
Qualifications:
Work Experience &/or Education:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
