Duties & Responsibilities

  • The Lead Workforce Advisor will serve as a support to WIOA Program Manager (and lead during program manager absence). Assist with interviewing, training current and new WIOA staff members, and will participate in some WIOA related training and meetings provided by PWI and partners.
  • Provide timely and accurate communication to appropriate partners. Ensures effective, accurate and coordinated communications with County Assistance Office personnel. 
  • Serve as the "workforce advisor" for assigned customers and meets the regulatory requirements for eligibility, participation, case notes in appropriate systems and follow up services.
  • Work with the Integrated Job Development Team to transition customers to appropriate employment within identifiable time-period.
  • Assist all Center customers in any of the welcome, skills and employment functions.   Provide program specific services including (where applicable) assessment, support services, incentives and individual Employment Plan development contributing to the attainment of Center wide and program specific performance metrics and success indicators.
  • Meet regularly with participants face-to-face, career coaching, job matching, training enrollment, and skills improvement to assist them to become more competitive in the job market.
  • Collaborate with center staff to trouble shoot and resolve problems; prepare periodic written reports as assigned, keep accurate statistical reports and customer forms/files for compliance.

 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.   Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University preferred. 
  • 3+ years of human services or case management experience required. Experience working with the targeted population. 
  • Must have an appropriate and valid state driver's license and be able to meet requirements for Eckerd's Auto Insurance and be able to drive for business purposes.
  • Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.

Eckerd Connects provides Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) services through contracts with the U.S. Department of Labor and local workforce boards, partnerships, and strategies to provide and create a career pathway for youth, adults, and dislocated workers.  Training services include occupational skills training, customized training, on-the-job training, incumbent worker training, and transitional employment opportunities.  We provide youth with development, academic instruction, career & technical education, and access to the 14 WIOA Youth Elements. We establish and develop relationships and networks with large and small employers and their intermediaries as well as develop, convene, or implement industry or sector partnerships.
