The Intermediate Accounting Accountant reports to the Financial Accounting Supervisor. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Preparation of monthly journal entries.
- Review and reconciliation of subledgers.
- Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
- Preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements.
- Preparation of bank reconciliations.
- Trend analysis of the balance sheet and income statement.
- Work with other departments to obtain documents and information needed for the close process or other projects.
- Balance intercompany transactions.
- Handle special projects requested from other departments or within the department.
- Preparation of quarterly variance analysis.
- Adhere to SOX procedures and documentation guidelines.
- Responsible for the timely resolution of outstanding accounting issues.
Requirements
The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
- 2 years prior work experience in accounting.
- Experience with Oracle is preferred.
- Must have working proficiency/knowledge of Microsoft applications including Excel.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization and external parties.
- Self starter who has the ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Takes direction well and upholds the standards and procedures of the department.
- Ability to adapt to change and work in a fluid environment.
- Proficiency with accounting concepts, such as financial statements, journal entries, and balance sheets.
- Ability to learn quickly, adapt and manage multiple priorities in a rapidly changing, dynamic environment and meet tight deadlines.
