JOB OVERVIEW:

EPIC Brokers has an opening for a full-time Commercial Service Assistant position in Melville office.  This position assists clients and Commercial Lines Account Managers in the various units on a daily basis as needed, with primary responsibilities of issuing Certificates of Insurance, processing Audits and Endorsements, along with other various support responsibilities.

Primary responsibilities of the position:

  • Prepare insurance documentation including certificates, EPI's, loss runs, policy change requests, and vehicle identification cards
  • Processing of Audits and Endorsements per company procedures and with attention to detail
  • Obtain quotes from carriers for policy changes
  • Set up and maintain client service activity files per company procedures
  • Perform other related support duties as requested
  • Prepare and print proposals, schedules, and other reports
  • Comply with all internal procedures and practices while demonstrating the ability to meet service performance standards
  • Billing inquiries
  • Contribute to a team effort while also maintaining individual priorities
  • Follow quality standards for processing time and data entry

Skills & Requirements:

  • One year insurance agency experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, and instruction from multiple Account Managers and Producers
  • Excellent phone and interpersonal skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment, making sound decisions
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office products
  • Travel between offices for educational or other mandatory meetings is occasionally required
  • Proficiency in organizing tasks and managing time efficiently is required
  • Mathematical skills to calculate commissions, percentages and other various figures related to insurance documents
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and determine which tasks are most critical

Educational requirement:

  • College degree preferred
  • Broker's license is required / can be obtained once hired

 COMPENSATION: 

The national average hourly rate for this role is $30.77 - $33.33 in base pay and exclusive of any bonuses or benefits. The base pay offered will be determined based on your experience, skills, training, certifications and education, while also considering internal equity and market data
