Job Description
SS&C/Eze Software is currently seeking a Software Engineer in Test - Intern to join our Execution Management System (EMS) program for the EMS UI scrum team at our Boston Headquarters. We want someone who is passionate about delivering quality products to our clients and has the desire to solve problems in an ever-changing, complex environment, like financial software. As a Software Engineer in Test - Intern, you will work with open-source technologies to develop automated tests of various levels (primarily integration and UI) to ensure our software functionality meets the highest standards of quality.
The EMS product is a client-server based, front to back-office solution for investment managers, and the EMS UI team works to build interfaces between the EMS, Market Data products. As a result, we work in a fast-paced environment where continuous integration and delivery are crucial to success. You will collaborate with product development and product managers to help release new functionality, incrementally, to our clients. We work in a collaborative and fun environment, and we are seeking Engineer in Test Interns who can, not only bring their experience to the team, but can also explore new and interesting ways for us to efficiently test our products.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Actively participating in Scrum activities, including backlog refinement and user story estimation.
- Work with the team to write complex automation at multiple levels of testing pyramid.
- Reviews automation testing code for other QA/DEV
- Analyze business requirements to develop automation strategy including Performance, Security testing.
- Proactively participate in continuous improvement of testing process and procedures by analyzing reported bugs and assessing test coverage around these areas.
- Evaluate quality risks to our clients for product changes and propose test strategies to address risks.
- Recommend design improvements and corrections through planning sessions and code review to engineers throughout the development process.
It would be nice if you had:
- Skills in object-oriented design and programming, ideally using C# or JavaScript.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Excellent problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
- Experience with SQL Server, Networking, or the investment industry is a plus.
MUST be actively enrolled in school following the completion of the Internship.
MUST have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
MUST be able to report to the office a minimum of 6 days per month.
