To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Failure Analysis Technician located in Salt Lake City, UT.
Reporting to the Test Engineer, the Failure Analysis Technician role involves conducts failure analysis and collects data on electronic products at the component and system level in order to find root causes and diagnose PCBA's, racks, and servers as well as increasing technical knowledge.
What a typical day looks like:
- Performs Failure Analysis for customers and suppliers as required.
- Develops, maintains, and improves all troubleshooting solutions within area of responsibility.
- Drives recovery / repair actions for the test process failure inventory.
- Reviews quality yields and develops corrective actions to eliminate yield detractors and improve the process / product reliability.
- Works with Quality, Test, Process, and other Failure Analysis Engineers to determine if product data indicates a need for process / product improvement.
- Assists with the fabrication and development of new equipment, fixtures, and test programs.
- Assists engineers and the development labs with all new product introduction and development.
- Supports and facilitates Debug or Technical training processes.
- Drives recovery actions / repairs of any test that is down.
- Troubleshoots / debugs at multiple system levels.
- Produces the reports / indicators assigned to Failure Analysis and Test Process.
- Improves the Failure Analysis Procedure.
- Follows instructions for all the operations involved in the test process.
- Recreates failures in a controlled environment to identify root causes.
- Has a strong awareness of safety standards.

- Demonstrated agility in moving between multiple shifts and product lines with proficiency.
- Holds extensive knowledge of various techniques and technologies, contributing to process improvement initiatives.
- Recognizes and applies new technologies to enhance operational efficiency and performance.
- Capable of interpreting complex dashboards, technical drawings, mathematical equations, and handbook formulas.
- Acts as a technical expert and consultant, sharing knowledge and best practices with team members.
- Experienced in electronics, Microsoft Office, computer architecture, Linux, PCBA visual inspection, and handling PCBA components.
