Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add an Industrial Engineering Manager located in MX Guadalajara North.

Reporting to the Director Global Operations Engineering, the Industrial Engineering Manager is responsible for Optimizing manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, create digital simulations with FlexSim, reduce waste, and improve overall production quality. This role generally requires a strong background in engineering principles, problem-solving skills, and a keen understanding of Lean methodologies such as Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, and Value Stream Mapping.. Will also be responsible for planning, designing, implementing, and managing; integrated, production and service delivery systems that assure performance, reliability, maintainability, schedule adherence and cost control within the production site. The Sr IE will adopt as its goals profitability, effectiveness, adaptability, responsiveness, quality, and the continuous improvement of products and services throughout their life cycles.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Implemented Lean methodologies, reducing production waste and enhancing overall efficiency.
  • Simulates process, materials and manufacturing workflow and gives input to process engineer by using FlexSim.
  • Conducted Value Stream Mapping to identify improvement opportunities and streamline workflows.
  • Managed cross-functional projects to drive process standardization and increase productivity.
  • Utilized statistical tools to monitor and improve process capability and control.
  • Review and validate capacity plan, proposing improvements for labor efficiency, space utilization and throughput.
  • Examines staff utilization, facility layout, and operational data, such as production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules, to define efficient utilization of workers and equipment.
  • Recommend methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities, such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocation workstations and equipment, and purchase of equipment.
  • Confer with management and engineering staff to implement plans and recommendations.
  • Develop management systems for cost reviews, financial planning, wage and salary administration, and job evaluation.
  • Develop management control systems to aid in financial planning and cost reviews, and design production planning and control systems to coordinate activities and ensure product quality.
  • During NPI coordinates process planning and set up with respect to takt, cycle time and direct labor requirement.
  • Manage and support initiatives to increase throughput, reduce costs and improve performance in constrained areas like Lean, Automation and/or Six Sigma projects.
  • Drive and yokoten the identified best practices based on the accord timelines.
  • Create and validate processes/standards based on standard work and BPs.
  • Applying and deploying Flex Lean Enterprise Values across the entire organization.
  • Utilize Continuous Improvement (Kaizen) techniques, initiate process improvements, cycle time reductions, cost reductions and other activities aimed at reducing/eliminating non-value-added activities in the process.
  • Drive and yokoten the identified Best practices based on the accord timelines.
  • Create and validate processes/standards based on standard work and BPs.
  • Perform assessment of CIMT Operation/Supply chain/Office and drive initiatives to close gaps.

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

  • Bachelor of Science in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering
  • English 75% or higher
  • Experience in Lean
  • Experience in similar roles
  • Experience in manufacturing industry (preferable)
  • Six Sigma Green/Black Belt Certification
  • Lean Manufacturing Certification
  • Process optimization.
  • Layout of the workcell.
  • 5S housekeeping techniques.
  • Develop/Sustain/Improve all assembly processes.
  • Time study analysis.
  • Own and drive yield improvement programs.
  • Box build quote and products.
  • Systems support (e.g. SAP, MES, IEDB…)
  • Should be able to be SME or support other IE's in one or more of the IE SME categories like:
  • Work Measurement
  • Systems and Metrics
  • Ergonomics / Workstation and line design
  • Capacity Sizing
  • PFMEA, DFA
  • Fixtures and Tool
