To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Manufacturing Engineering Intern located in Orangeburg, South Carolina.

Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager. The Manufacturing Engineering Intern will primarily focus on identifying and implementing process improvements and cost reductions using accepted industrial engineering and lean manufacturing methodologies. This position will also support various projects related to new and

redesigned product launches.

Here is a glimpse of what you'll do:

  • Assists with the design of special assembly tools, fixtures and equipment to be used for the assembly processes
  • Support new systems and processes for the introduction of new products or for the improvement of existing ones to include layouts, work instructions and training materials.
  • Helps keep equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special service.
  • Assists with analysis of workforce utilization, facility layout, and operational data such as production costs, process flow diagrams, and production schedules to determine efficient utilization of workers and equipment.
  • Recommends methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocating workstations and equipment, and purchase of equipment.
  • Supports troubleshooting of daily manufacturing issues.

Here is some of what you'll need:

  • Undergrad student pursuing bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field from a four-year university
  • Computer skills preferred: MS Office software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project); AutoCAD, 3D CAD software, SolidWorks', Draft Sight
  • Coursework/knowledge of Lean manufacturing methodologies and principles is highly desired.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawing requirements and specifications.
  • Prefer manufacturing/assembly automation experience.
  • Enthusiastic about working in a manufacturing environment
  • Highly collaborative, creative and excellent communication skills
  • Previous internship experience, a plus!

Internship Program Requirements:

  • Available to work 40 hours/week (in-person) for 10–12-week Summer assignment
  • Currently enrolled in 4-year accredited university
  • 3.0 minimum GPA
